The style of blade on the expensive one, the "reverse tanto" is called a Wharncliffe style blade. It's kind of a nebulous term, but basically means when you have a straight (or straight-ish) cutting edge and the spine curves or in this case angles down to the point. I love my barracudas! I have both the Wharncliffe and dagger blade versions.

I've had several microtec and Heretic knives and the problem I always have is that any little bit of pocket lint or trash will prevent full deployment of the blade. It is very annoying and I solved the problem by carrying side opening or folding autos like Benchmade Osborne or presidio. Kershaw Blur is good too. A $400 OTF that stops with the blade halfway out will piss you off. It does me

I just bought the high end one you demonstrated and used beard20 discount code (saved $37). I have both Guardian Receipts n 035 and it’s big brother 040, but at $285 to $385 each I can’t use those for daily tasks. They are more for my collection. At $143 (after discount) I won’t lose sleep if I break it. Thanks for the review. I hope the knife is as good as you say.

I think ill stick with getting a Kershaw Livewire9000 for my 1st otf but im probably also going to get a few of these Tac Knives for edc so if I have to ditch one for any reason (I live in Commiefornia) it wont hurt as bad as loosing a Kershaw livewire9000 ✌️

Any thoughts on Templar knifes otf’s? I bought one and I like it seems well made but haven’t had it long. Wondering on long term they do have a life time warranty for all internals.

I've bought 10 OTF's from them, all were on scratch and dent sale so no warranty, and only 1 has failed on me out of the box. Even though there was no warranty they sent me a returned knife to scavenge for parts, between the 2 I got 1 working/

How about blade wobble ? The problem with a lot of these low-priced OTF's is loose blades.

I have expensive OTF knives too. They all wobble. At least all the ones I have ever used. I think I tried a guardian tactical once and it was pretty tight. But that's 3-500 bucks
