I have owned one for 9 years and I totally agree. I love it and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. The only thing I don't like is that the screen is very wasted, with its size it could show much more information, for example, when pressing each button it could show a summary of the corresponding section (oscillators, LFOs, etc.), but well, he more than makes up for that lack with his sound.

I've hade mine for a couple of years and it sounds absolutely amazing. Got it for about 200 euros and to this day I can not understand how this one fails to create much buzz about it. Versatiule, heavy, thick and at times ear shattering.

The Juno 106 filter is quite steppy - you can REALLY hear the steps, even without closing your eyes. What does the trick there is opening / closing the filter with the modulation wheel, and you won’t get any steps. Not owning a Pulse 2 myself (yet), I don‘t know if this is working on the Waldorf?!?! 🤔

Are they comparable by sound - how is the background noise level?

Totaly agree with you, prolly most underrated analog synth ever. Though I don't use it at all for you discribe, for me it's the ultimate little guy that sounds 80's and yet have a low end. Sure you can make is sound nasty but for me it sounds soft but deep and smooth.

I had a Waldorf phoenix edition Q rack - the sounds were great, but the menu diving was horrible. Even after 6 years and reading the manual over and over again, I couldn't even save sounds...I sold it. Part of me regrets it, but part of me is glad that I don't pick it up every once in a while, get amazed by sounds and frustrated by the menu. I haven't bought a waldorf since.

Is this multtimbral as in how many parts? They seem to have stopped making 16 channel synthesizers although I do have the Blofeld keyboard version (wish I had the smaller one). Great video clip.

If only they made a keyboard version that looks exactly like the Waldorf Blofeld, but in black and green. Hell, make the white keys green too. I would be the first to buy it.

Yeah I always thought they'd end up doing a KB version, 100% would have bought it

How you finding the behringer model d?

It's great, sounds ridiculously good and amazing value. You'll spend a lot of time tuning it as it is a bit unstable but it is worth the hassle imo

Do you recommend pulse 2 or behringer model d? I plan to use it live with my band! Thanks in advance for the advice!!

I think the D sounds better but the Pulse has more features and if you want to play live you’ll probably need presets which the Pulse has.

The original Pulse and Pulse+ are starting to go for silly money - ever had the chance to compare? Also all that display and no patch names is peak Waldorf weirdness.

Never used the original, only heard demos online which is obviously not the same. I enjoy the weirdness, thankfully the Pulse 2 doesn’t seem to have the same dodgy encoder issues as the blofeld 🤞🏻
