Great video! But man, if you like Melbourne now, if you experienced it in the 90s you'd think you'd gone to heaven. All of the food, arts and music culture is kind of on life support these days with rising costs, but also specifically because of corrupt local councils and developers pushing out music and art spaces for poorly made apartments. Writing this not to be cynical, but as a reminder that good things need nurturing and protecting, for us and future generations. So explore the little known places, make friendships, tell new people, share unique precious places through the internet and we can make Melbourne vibrant again. Heck, the whole country and the rest of the world while we're at it. But prudent to start local.

Melbs used to be great. The floor's falling out of it now due to over population. I work in the city and I've heard it said that it's an open air psychiatric ward. Hard to argue with that appraisal. It's heartbreaking to witness every day.

I just stumbled on this, and it's beautifully shot, humorous, well written, good music, and interesting insights. I just got back from Sydney last night and it's interesting to hear a Sydneysider's version of what Melbourne is like, as I loved my time in Sydney (Glebe markets, Newtown, Liverpool for all the Lebanese food, the PT is sooo much better). Maybe it's the grass is always greener, but both cities offer a lot, we are blessed!

Definitely a common ground in Australia in general! Trust me Sydney is 10x more amplified. Maybe the only benefit is that people are transparent in saying exactly how they feel even if it offends you whereas here there might be a little too much of that happy vibe even if they actually aren’t feeling it. Nonetheless the city is a breath of fresh air and has a lot to offer 🙏

This resonates with me hard as fuck man. I'm in my 20's, lived my whole life in Western Sydney but been to Melbourne half a dozen times now. I've flown and drove down, explored the majority of the city from my own car and public transport and absolutely love it. The only place I'd ever want to move if I left Sydney is Melbourne for sure. I've actually made a crew of lifelong friends down there who I get on with better then the majority of my Sydney friends lol and we link up city to city a few times a year. I must say clubbing and rave culture in Melbs is on another level relative to Sydney too, have the best nights out down there.
