Amazing how this storm has been so hard to predict for so long
@EvanTolerАй бұрын
Everyone mis judges the actual ability of any weather model to predict ahead of time. There's sooo many factors as of right now it can still be very wrong there's still 1-3 days before it even forms. Just like how local weather can say no rain and it can pour. We do not have the physics of storms and cloud movement mastered.

It hasn't rained in our Southwest Ohio area since I think early August, but it wasn't a lot of rain in August. It is so dry. The grass is dead and it looks like a desert.. trees already losing leaves a month early. It's so dusty everyone's like coughing and sneezing. Glad it's forecasted for rain. We had a 60% chance of rain the other night, but it went through Northern Kentucky not Ohio. Since we also had a drought over the summer, we're really struggling with rain and also why is it so hot. It's still 90° outside.

Until a low forms and the system begins to develop, I should be careful about sounding alarms. Computer models are nice, but they do have their limitations.

I don't think it'll swing that far east (toward FL). The system moving over KS is not strong, and shouldn't push it further east. I'd expect landfall in MS/AL/WFL panhandle as a strong cat 2 to mod cat 3 with extreme flooding in MS, TN, AL I think that moisture behind Helene is going to feed into the rainfall totals.
