I use qualifiers all the time to improve my humor writing, allegedly. Thanks Andrew.

Haha, I suppose that's a good use of 'em (and by "suppose" I mean that's a great idea!)

Is there a possible overlap between weasel words and qualifiers, Andrew? I gave a talk at my Toastmasters club recently questioning those who claimed pigeons were vermin. An industry standards' body claimed that 49% of pigeons COULD BE carrying deadly viruses. I said it was therefore possible that they "could not be" (using their word could.) I described it as the fallacy of weasel words; but watching your video it could be a qualifier.

Definitely--weasel words appear to be a broader category, but they all seem to have dishonorable intent in common. In that sense, I'd think any qualifier being used to manipulate or deceive would turn weasely in a hurry.

I find women and customer service workers speak like this. Also, people who are afraid of potential backlash so this pads.

I have a presentation about qualifier tomorrow, and God this video is helpful. You are helpful. Thank you so much.❤️

@@WritingwithAndrew I did it yesterday. It went really well and I kinda copied your weather forecast example 😅. It was just for my class though (mid-term exam).
