YES!!!!!! Gerards run is what got me totally obsessed with doom patrol, and now I've read almost the whole doom patrol backlog. After all that, gerards is probably still my favorite run (though Pollack's run is a close second) and it feels so underdiscussed. tysm for making a video on it!

I so agree that this is the best run of Doom Patrol. The original Gerard Way run as well as the Weight of the Worlds miniseries really sold the legitimacy of Gerard Way as a comic book writer. Gerard knew how to reintroduce the comic world to Doom Patrol after so many runs previously have disappointed fans.

I was having trouble writing the script for my next video, so one night I got drunk and read Weight of the Worlds, the follow up mini series to this run, and it was somehow the most enlightening thing I've ever experienced, even though I don't think I read it the way it was supposed to be read. I have an ending for the video now. Sorry, that really doesn't say anything about the first series (which is great for all the reasons you mentioned in the vid), but I thought it was a funny story.
