Here in the UK up until quite recently the only cigarettes that had white filters were menthols. All regular and light cigs had the brown filters. So when i was a kid watching the show, or American movies, i always thought most American smokers smoked menthols, as you see the white filters a lot.

Life can be strange and odd and so can stories too if you can find the beauty in it. So Walter White's wife Skylar who used to smoke and quit but her husband Walter who never smokes is the one diagnosed with lung cancer. His partner Jesse who also smoked those two survive. Tony who also smoked and had bad eating habits nearly dies from a gunshot wound and not those vices. Even Omar in The Wire who was a heavy smoker never had any health issues from his smoking but is taken out from a bullet. It's crazy because we don't know what life has in store for us and the same goes with these characters fates this is why I love art. And your analysis is spot on again Stephanie 😎✌️

Interesting! I like how you bring in characters from other series. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and insight. It makes me think of when A.J. says, "Life is absurd" or even when Meadow says, "Madame DeStael said in life one must choose between boredom and suffering." Though so much of what happens isn't necessarily a full "choice," but we could go down the rabbit hole here for sure! Thanks again for your comment :) !
@paulwilliams59428 сағат бұрын
@SopranosBlueprint yes so many thought provoking lines in this series Tony emphasizes this the best in the Kevin Finnerty episode when he famously says "Who am I? Where am I going?" And he even says it once he wakes up so you know it must have really resonated with him and im sure at some point every human has asked that question at least once so it really resonated with the audience as well. But that's why we live this life and we're not fortunate to have a glimpse at the end we learn along the way although spirit guides help out alot (no matter what Paulie Walnut Walnut says lol) OOOOOHHH!!! Yes we can talk all night about it but that's what makes this show so great. Your so welcome im enjoying all these great minds in the comments giving their opinions it's good when we can all get together and discuss these topics

have you ever done a video about the significance of movies and/or books in certain scenes?
@SopranosBlueprintКүн бұрын
That's a great suggestion! I did a video awhile back on books but haven't re: the movies. I'd love to dive into the symbolism and significance of certain scenes in films that appear on The Sopranos. Stay tuned! Though one movie I do mention whenever I do a Carmela video is "Remains of The Day" because she's "Number 7 is Sekhu, The Remains" in the S6 opening montage. I also love the Madame Bovary references in particular. When Mr. Wegler describes the book and said, "It's somehow horrifically funny, though tragic," it makes me think of The Sopranos!

I will sit here an have full conversations with you in these comments. I meant to add that I find Ginny offering Johnny a cigarette on his death bed to be such a brilliantly written last act of love. Its equal parts depressing and lovely but as he fades away, her best idea is to entice him with what put him there.

Not at all. No judgment, whatsoever. Just discussing these topics in the context of The Sopranos and the lives of the characters-which may or may not apply to our own lives, as well-but I have no agenda I’m personally pushing on the matter. I hope that helps clarify things.
