the general was so sexually frustrated this entire episode. he was out at midnight because he couldnt resist the temptation his wife might bring him despite doctors orders, leading to a breakthrough in the case against mother bai. when he found people attacking his wife he wanted more of a challenge, they didn't even need him to exert 0.0001% of his effort... also after he was caught with mother bai, he wanted to be punished by jin'er so bad. lol... "take off my clothes then." haha!

@@dogoganguly5461 earlier in this episode, he and his wife had been told to cool down on the sex so the whole night, he was just mad frustrated. they wanted to... you know... relieve stress... but were simply not allowed. that's why he was frustrated but lucky for them, their frustration helped them solve the case! 😂😂 jin'er asking the general why he doesn't sleep at night is so classic and cute and innocent. lol. anyway, that's that. hope you understand.
