Crazy how different noses smell different things. I get a strong burst of coconutty sun tan lotion scent. It's great for a high heat pool day.

SoCal came out in 2007. The Hollister store back before then smelled great, very clean. The scent they sprayed was the now discontinued Drift. If you liked that smell and remember it Aeropostle Maximum is a very close smell to Drift.

@@gerardgeorge I purchased a bottle and don't regret it. It's a young smell but versatile and clean. It's about a 90-95%% dupe of Drift. Hollister should bring back Drift

Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce as well as Hollister SoCal are two of the most nostalgic fragrances for me, been wearing them since high school. You’ll be surprised how long it lasts for a EDC Concentration! More people need to get their nose on this for the price.

I've been eyeing on that SoCal but I wasn't sure if it's going to be worth it.. and after this review, I'm definitely not going to buy hahaha thanks G!!

I think A&f actually owns Hollister! In fact we no longer have Abercrombie in my area after many many years, but still we have most of the Hollisters. I never really liked shopping there or at A&f and I kinda had disdain for people who did, fragrances and like 90s era messenger bags aside. I do however recognize that Abercrombie really has like a totally different vibe after going through so some store closures and financial difficulties, so I am now neutral. I was always an American Eagle kind of guy lol.

Coincidentally, I wasn’t that far from Hollister CA, the namesake for the brand, today. It’s not far from Gilroy. Monterrey isn’t too far away either. This is the type of scent that a teen boy gets as their first scent and the 6.7 Oz bottle is half gone in two weeks. 😅. Never buy a teen boy an expensive scent. They get Axe first, around 7th grade, by 9th, they are into scents like this. By 11th, they want Savauge. 😂.

@@gerardgeorge Menan and Old Spice were my first scents. That’s the aftershave dad had. Then found some hai karate and brut that my older brother bought. Mind you, this was the 70s. My son got Axe, then Hollister and Azzaro Chrome in HS. In college I’ve bought him TF Oud Wood and other TF scents. Maybe Tumi 19 for Christmas this year.

Hollisters have fine scents, but like the other cheap houses they're either Odie cologne or EDTs. And they last what on my skin about a half hour. Probably why they give you a 6.7 Oz on the SoCal cuz you'll probably have to reapply every hour, but great review Gerard. Keep up your great work! Love your channel and God bless!!

@@willugoupordown I don't get tommy at all. Different noses smell different things though. I get a slight pineapple, coconut, faint coffee like creamy smell. This thing is actually super good for what it is. It lasts up to 5-6 hours on my skin. I get wafts the whole time. It's very nice. I work around heat and it pumps for the first few hours. The opening reminds me of old Givenchy PI for a few minutes

I picked up a bottle of it on clearance at T.J Maxx a few months back for $16 for the 200ml bottle. The more I wear it the more I appreciate it....for an EDC. It lasts pretty well, especially if you spray your shirt!!!! Dated,but in a good way 👍

I just picked this one up last night and wore it today. It’s just a cozy pleasant, subtle scent. I’ll definitely get some use out of it but there’s a better chance of me winning the lottery than ever going though this whole bottle lol.

I wore this throughout high school when the cap was metal (2008-2011), I loved the stuff. Always wondered what happened to it and after 13 years I found it again a couple months ago. Had to grab a bottle. I agree it’s more of a teenagers scent; however I will wear it from time to time now that I have a huge bottle. On me it lasts all day.
