After reading Faith's book it makes sense why her early performances wasn't all that great. She smoked weed all the time plus she was probably nervous and stress over BIG playing her. Learn a lot about her in that book that made me look at her in a different light, not a good one. Also Faith's fans stand down, don't put Mary and her in the same sentence. They have two distinct voices.

Just because someone has more popularity, does not mean that they are a better singer. REAL singers know that Faith is underrated. REAL singers know that Faith was influence by KAREN CLARK SHEARD who very influential in the gospel and secular arena. REAL singers study and recognize Faith's talent. Mary is a great artist as well.

During this time frame..early 90's, Faith was better than Mary, but Puffy didnt market Faith like he should have. He took the money he made off of Faith and put in back into Mary, which hurt him in the long run because the eventually had a falling out and stopped working together. Faith sang with soul that we dont hear today. R&B like this isnt around anymore. Bring it BACK!!!

Was responding to someone else's comment who said Faith had heavier promotion...I was making the point that even if it is true that MJB had heavier promotion... the two had worked with each other (ie Faith doing back up for her and others) so cross influence in vocal styles was v possible! I actually remember assuming that this track was MJB when I first heard it on the radio til I saw the video!
