5:56 you don’t lose the popularity because you have your camaraderie mech uncovered.

Camaraderie only triggers after combat.
@akuskus4 жыл бұрын
Doesn't seem to be the case here indeed, as Pablo mentioned. It was not a combat there.
@StevenStJohn-kj9eb4 жыл бұрын
Pablo and akuskus - thank you for correcting my correction! Indeed, Camraderie only deals with popularity loss during combat, and forcing a worker back is not combat as no power is spent.

Excellent video, I have soooo many questions about move action. This answers most of them. I also played movement wrong so many games.

Watched all of these, and happily it confirmed I’ve been doing things correctly, but this last video made the order of battle versus encounter clear, which I didn’t know. So I have a comment and a question: First, my comment-you’re explanations throughout all of your videos are meticulous. They leave nothing out, even when it would have been tempting/easier to do so. Your phrasing is excellent, and most importantly, you’ve clearly prepared various situations to show how things play out in important unique situations. Nothing was left to chance or poorly executed. Don’t know if you are a teacher by trade, but this level of explanation and preparation is so rarely seen and is so appreciated. Now my question: in a tie-breaker situation, are we totaling all workers, mechs and structures for the tied players? If so, do units that are on the home base at the end of game count toward that total, as they are not on a territory? I assume they would, but I’d be curious to know your take. This came up once in play. Probably will never come up again, but I still wonder about it.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I wish my videography and editing skills were better, but it is very nice to know that the explanations were clear and thorough. I am indeed a college professor by trade. I have not heard your question asked before, but I strongly believe units on the home base would count. I believe the tie breaker is giving you credit for the actions and resources you've used to create those units, so their position on the board is not relevant. You've already been "punished" in that those units didn't contribute to your territory scoring, but you wouldn't be punished again by not having them count toward the tie-breaker.

At 8:00, would it be possible for the mech to carry the workers to the combat tile? I don't know yet if it could be beneficial in some circumstances but is it a legal move?
@StevenStJohn-kj9eb4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, this is perfectly legal. The danger of doing so is that if you lose the combat, all of your workers (along with your mech) would have to retreat to home base. The benefit of doing so is that if you win the combat, your workers would still be in the protection of the mech and would be able to take advantage of the hex you have just won. So if the Polania player wanted next to produce wood - and especially if Polania was confident that it would win the combat - it might indeed move the workers into combat with the mech so that after the victory the workers would be ready to produce on the forest.

If he took workers into battle and lost, does the other player lose hearts base on the number of workers that were carried into battle?

Thank you for the great Videos! They help alot! I have a question regarding DROPING OFF WORKERS. can i move multiple workers with a Mech and drop them off during mid movement? My Mech would move 3 Spaces (SPEED UNLOCKED). Droping off a worker on the second hex... This would be good doing to cover more ground for final scoring. Is this a legid move? Greetings from Germany
@StevenStJohn-kj9eb2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for stopping by to comment! Yes, the move you proposed is valid and good strategy. You basically have a lot of freedom with picking up and dropping off workers. You could even have your mech carry 2 workers, and moving 3 hexes it could drop a worker off at step 1, another at step 2, and then reach the third space on its own. As you say, a very good strategy when you know the game is about to end.

why didn't u start on you're home territory? and started on the territory for the expansion is that allowed for white cause if not then u need the mech with river walk to get your mechs out?

Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not sure I understand your question. This is not a full playthrough; these videos present scenarios to demonstrate rules.

So I guess it is also allowed to pick up workers/resources mid movement then?

It is.

I don't understand why workers are removed inmediately and not after the entire movement action (as encounters and combat). Is that in the rules?
@StevenStJohn-kj9eb4 жыл бұрын
Yes, page 11. "If your character or mech move into a territory controlled by an opponent’s workers (and no other units), its movement ends (even if you have a mech ability that would allow it to move further). Each of the opponent’s workers on that territory immediately retreats to their faction’s home base, leaving behind any resource tokens. You lose 1 popularity for each of their workers you forced to retreat..."
@pabloandrada65584 жыл бұрын
@@StevenStJohn-kj9eb yeah. After i wrote to you, i read the rules again. It says "its movement ends" and "inmediately"... I'm still not sure if that's the way it's suppossed to play it. After thar, i compared the spanish version and says "after your move action ends", not after "its movement end". It's more like encounter/combat works. I think the digital version works in that way too, and its easier to understand.
@StevenStJohn-kj9eb4 жыл бұрын
@@pabloandrada6558 The rules are very carefully written. You should, of course, play by the rules. There isn't a doubt about this; it is one of the key strategic elements of the Move action.
