We move to a rural area. Little did we know up the road there was a trailer park. Nothing wrong with living in a trailer. This particular area was full of people with addiction issues. We had 3 separate issues where someone tried to break in our home. We called the Sheriff. We also had protection to make them leave our property. Each had outstanding warrents. You are supposed to protect your family and property

The same thing happened in 2016 in Louisiana when we flooded we ended up happening our insurance companies dropped 95% of home insurance so we couldn't pay for our homes to be rebuilt, from there they told us that wasnt their problem and it took us at least four to five years to rebuild our family home, point being this is what happens if you don't stand your ground and save your home looters will come and we had no choice but to take shifts. I really hope the people of California can get funding and help that they need for their homes I'm so sorry for everyone's Loss!!

As someone who endured our wildfires here in Australia just 5 years ago, the only thing that my wife & I were able to bond with other people in the evacuation centre we were in was the uncertainty of finding out if our homes were still standing or not. We were lucky as our survived the inferno & we were in the evacuation centre for 4 nights & 5 days. I wouldn’t wish the feeling on anyone left in a position of not knowing if they’ll even have a home to return to.

Re the old people who’ve lost their home. Now those are the ones that break my heart only because my mom is 92 most of her loved ones are already on the other side! She’s always been an optimistic person but I can tell sometimes she really misses those that have passed! My dad, her sisters my grandparents and so many others! Their things, my grandparents pictures, special things left behind are all she has! I don’t know what she’d do if she lost that!
