I'll never forget this song, as a "juke" played it on a certain night back in '82. I awoke in a broke-down van outside Seroka's bar, stinking, hungover, comin' down after a 3-day high, hurtin', and mean. The "biker club" I belonged to, just buried its leader, after a drunken 16-year-old girl killed him in a traffic accident. I went back into the bar to see if a "cold-one" would help my disposition. Short story, a fellow member and sadistic sociopath named "Skeech," vying for leader, started riding me. Angry words and punches were thrown, as I saw him make a move for his "Python." I drew first and placed a hard view of eternity, with a Colt .45 automatic in his face. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw unfriendly hands reach for "iron and steel," interrupted by a blast through the window from Seroka's double-barrel "coach gun." My friend "Shades" was on the other end of it ...smiling and telling everyone to throw their hardware out of that window. I relieved Skeech of his .357, grab my mug of beer and smashed it across his face. As Skeech laid on the floor with blood flowing over what was left of his teeth, like water over a dam, Shades and I split, kicking over bikes and haulin' ass as far and as fast as we could, and hid in a cornfield that night. I REALLY like this song, ...lotta good memories.

You two are a breath of fresh air ! It is very kool how much you two love one another, a perfect example of real true love, I can especially see it in Rich's smile and Kel's eye's when he's complementing her. Rich you need to show her Iron Maiden's Flight of Icarus off of Piece of Mind, I'm sure you've heard it. A huge plus for you guys being big RUSH fans too ! Rich, there is a possible way Kel might be able to enjoy these songs at their PROPER super high volume, and that is by using equipment like mine. I have a Yamaha CDC-845 ( 118 sig-noise ratio ) that is the source, and a Carver TFM-35 amp .01 % THD driving my Infinity SM 152's. I can run 300 watts into the 152's because the signal is super clean and the LACK of distortion keeps you from incurring ear damage while still being able to feel the sound pressure level pound your chest cavity ! Real head banging BEGINS when your chest cavity is pounded by the sound waves !!! Just sayin !

Wow Kel, your story reminds a lot of Sori, from the legendary channel "VinAnd Sori" :) (error in origin) She also got heavy restrictions on the music she was allowed to listen to, when she was a child. although it was for different reasons :)
@kelligafter5025 жыл бұрын
Brombit oh interesting. I don’t know much about them as I have never watched their channel. Ya, it’s a sad truth. I feel for Sori but am happy she is exploring music now. That is fantastic! I guess parents who constantly live in fear of the unknown are so desperate to have “good kids” so they hold the reigns of control so incredibly tight it is difficult to explore our gorgeous world and blossom into whom ever we are meant to be. At least I am now with the man of my dreams who encourages me to be me in all regards. Being with Rich is a precious and special gift that I cherish above all else. Thank you so much for continuing to hang out with us and be the wonderful source of goodness that you are.

"Legendary" it showed great promise but their "reviews" focus way too much on lyrics, not enough on music and they always go off on tangents talking about nonsense that has nothing to do with the song that they just listened to. Plus Vin calls himself a guitar player but I really doubt it and if something isn't Metallica, he won't like it. Sori brings the more interesting points, but she usually doesn't take the initiative.
@Brombit5 жыл бұрын

Heavy metal artists actually take great inspiration from classical music, which is just as an much of an emotionally charged style of music, so it makes sense Kelli would love all of this stuff. Especially the late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton loved classical music and taught the rest of the band music theory after Dave Mustaine was fired from the band (Mustaine was originally a Metallica member then got fires and founded Megadeth). I would HIGHLY recommend you react to Orion by Metallica. I'm not even sure if you'll read this comment but it's a must for Metallica, ESPECIALLY if you have a classical background. EDIT: You just did a few months ago, whoops. LOL

First: #Judas Priest The sentinel No reaction package about Priest is complete without this one. I'm sure you will love it. Second: Ah well, I got it. It explains, how it can be, that two such mind-opened people like you are hearing so many musical jewels for the first time. I had a suspicion it could be something like that. And now I appreciate your work even more. I'm from Switzerland (near Basel). Altough my english knowledge is not that bad, sometimes it's a bit difficult to follow every word correctly. So maybe you explained this part already, and I just picked up a few pieces of it. @Kel: My girlfriend had a very similar kind of life like you (about control and veto etc). So when we met, I found myself in an also very similar position like your husband Rich. Bringing the good stuff to her ears. For me it was hard to understand, how limited someone can grow up in a place, where music has such a high importance. I grew up free (at least on this point). Yes, I also had my "fights" about music, but most of the time about the standards for the volume control ;-) In the 80s/90s we had a little club/disco for the youth in town, where we metal heads were hanging (and banging) around every Friday night. And everytime we heard, that someone doesn't get the permission to visit this club, we used to invite the parents directly to have a look inside. Normally there was no more a problem about that. Some parents even began to love us :-) As you may think: My girlfriend was one of those, who was never allowed to be even seen near this club. So, sadly we never met each other and I never heard about her problem. But now she's the girlfriend of the one, who managed this "forbidden" club for five years. Guess, what her parents think about that:-) And she now loves Pantera, Rage against the machine, Helloween, Soulfly, Opeth, Motörhead... and I'm in love with Bach, Tschaikowski, Brahms, Strauss, Vivaldi...

When this song is played at my house. An Earthquake warning is sent out. Old school Sansui 9090DB and 2000 watt Amps can do that... 'Lucky for me. My Parents made me listen to Rossini. Bach. Beethoven etc.. As Cartoons are full of that stuff. I had to name that artist. You had to learn at least one instrument. Read sheet music. Listen to Gospel. Jazz. etc..Then being raised in a Pentecostal Church you better like music and dancing. It's like a rock concert.
