Complacency is the biggest enemy to success after EGO imo, if only people truly knew the potential they can tap in to regardless of having already seen progress and got themselves out of a rut. I feel like I've gotten a bit complacent after seeing huge progress in my self improvement journey which I've made a video on, but there is always a balance with this imo. If you tell yourself to not get complacent you will always find yourself chasing the next big thing and nothing you achieve will ever be good enough for you to be fulfilled. I agree with people saying that it's natural to slip into complacency once in a while but the important thing is to bounce off of it and always strive for more than you've already achieved. Do the hard work, especially when you dont feel like it🤟

Complacency is probably a byproduct of the ego justifying its current state. The ego says “im doing as much as I can right now therefore I can justify not making an effort to change my current self”

Hamza I don't know how are you doing this, but every time I get off the rails on my journey, you always make the exact video I need for me to start making progress again, no matter in what area of self-improvement. I've started making a lot of money with no effort (it really felt like a money glitch business for me) and I thought like I already have everything I need, even when deep inside of my mind I felt unfulfilled. Today after few months I played 3 hours of video games, and now I just watch this whole video and agreed literally on every point you were making, because you were describing exactly the problem I'm going through, after this video I hit the most intense workout I could and now feel purposeful again. Thanks for this great movement, please keep it up with those more valuable unfiltered vids!

Hamza I think it's great that you've found for yourself that working that much actually makes you happier but I hope that you still do the crucial habits. You better be meditating for at least 20 minutes a day, still go to the gym and make fantastic progress there, journal on your thoughts and what you're grateful for, read and absorb the wisdom of the greats. I hope that you still keep up these habit for yourself because I believe that it's very benificial.

I agree mostly with this but just on the maintenance thing you said, and the gym and physique example, you shouldn't be looking at others, none of this relative to other people stuff, because you are only competing against yourself. If you believe you have your dream body, then there's nothing wrong with maintaining. Maintaining something you built is just as good as rising from the bottom, they both take focus, determination and commitment to the next level. Honestly I think there is a point where you will be perfectly content and happy with where you are but of course that point will be almost impossible to reach which goes back to Hamza's points.

Love to see such a raw and honest video. Only critiques I have are: 1. Don't become a workaholic. Someone so obsessed with work that they don't know how to live life outside of work. Work can become a comfort zone for a lot of people and spending too much time in your comfort zone is the enemy of progress. 2. There are other areas of your life that you can start to make progress in if you feel like you've achieved your goals in a certain area. Try playing an instrument, work on your relationships with your friends and family, try a new sport. There's plenty of things in this world that you can achieve great heights in if you've already done it in one area(s). 3. Don't burn yourself out. Understand things take time and progress will happen if you keep continuing on in the right direction. If you're working so hard that it's starting to take a toll on your mental health and/or the relationships you have, reconsider your approach and your mindset to the goals you've set.

@@acrez3260 I don’t understand why current fitness influencers feel like being satisfied with your physique is somehow a bad thing? Not everyone has the same level of goals with fitness and some just want to achieve a good level of health that makes them more attractive and better functioning in work. It’s fine if you want to take your physique or anything else to the absolute top but I mean…these channels realize not every single person even wants to become this mythical gigachad male that is so celebrated here. I have no doubt that Hamza is a net positive to the men he influences, but damn I feel like him and some of his contemporaries can’t comprehend the fact that maximum productivity and constant improvement isn’t appealing to all people or even realistic.

i understand your comment and your advice is good, but 99% of people who will see this are not working nearly hard enough to be labeled a "workaholic". so while yes it's true that you should find a balance, most people need to be hearing the message that they need to work harder, not to slow down and stop being a workaholic.

As a full-time musician who had decent success with ups and downs since 2015 . I think about this a lot and I get a bit upset with myself if I go weeks without feeling "motivated". I know it's a mental thing mostly, because I always have inspiration and ideas are flourishing. I have been working out in the gym as well for 3 years and at least there I feel like I've been steadily evolving. But my "business" is at a halt and I want to keep pushing. Just being aware, with videos like these are a great way of reminding, of finding purpose and focus. Stay HUNGRY for progress, being "fed" and complacent is the enemy to progress.

Thank you for the reminder brother. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have accepted this a few months if not a few weeks ago. Besides this video, I just got reminded it’s time not just to step out of my funk. I’ve subscribed for a while and as a middle age man, I really appreciate how you promote and support masculinity in general. Being as understanding and also reminding us what it means to be a man. Lately, it seems society has convoluted the meaning of to be a man. We all benefit when we cheer each other on and not tear each other. Growing mentally and physically is a lifetime work. For me, I’ve gotten to the point where I just compete with myself. Be better than I was yesterday is what I strive for. Gents, for anyone watching or creating content such as this; you are all good men. Anything that promotes, supports or teaches how to be a better human being no matter how little is worth taking time to consume. Not to be better than others but to better for ourselves and support others who can’t. By not being complacent in that pursuit you make the world a better place.

Question, and this is me completely hearing you out on progress, self improvement, etc. But why does progress matter? What is the point of improvement? What makes it important to keep on moving? What leads to the idea of more and more? I am coming from a mindset of we are here in the now for a reason, with a lesson to learn and an opportunity to take. Taking a nonjudgmental, non-dualistic approach But what if we don't see the opportunities the Divine presents us? Food for thought.
