@@dontcareisaidit To be honest, I don't really understand it. Some theoretical bassists claim that five exists beyond four but I guess you can claim anything if no one can prove it.

i bought an mxr flanger back in 1975. when i hooked it up to a bass at the guitar shop, they looked at me funny and said that it was for guitar. I bought it and used it with my Jazz bass for years. Always loved the effect. so for the first time ever, I did something on bass before Davie.

Hey Davie perhaps explore some great national treasure and play it on Bass. For me, im from Poland i really like "Dżem" its a very old band but Polish people will surely like to hear it. I dont know how it will work for bass but if you take song requests i would really like anything like "Sen o Victorii" "Whisky moja żono" "Czerwony jak cegła" "List do M" or anything you find im sure your Polish audience will be shocked to hear some good old sounds that bring us to tears. Good luck on slappin and thanks in advance!

70s were a good time to hear experimental filters on the bass. Funkadelic was using wah on bass as early as 1970 (maybe that was Bob Babbitt playing). Raymond Earl in Instant Funk, liked to use the phase on the Carl Carlton album 'I Wanna Be With You'. It was also used on bass on Roy Ayers 'Mystic Voyage' album.

I used to have a ring with a long, square stone on it. I wore it on my pinky. I'd flip the ring around and hit the string with it, making a sharp high-pitched sound that I worked into a song or two. Could probably have used it like a slide if it was on my left hand and it wasn't a family heirloom.
