i bought an mxr flanger back in 1975. when i hooked it up to a bass at the guitar shop, they looked at me funny and said that it was for guitar. I bought it and used it with my Jazz bass for years. Always loved the effect. so for the first time ever, I did something on bass before Davie.

It's a famous bass line from an old video of Flea and Chad from the RHCP jamming. If you search for "Flea and Chad Jamming" there's a 10 year old video of it, this line is played around the 7 minute mark.

About the delay effect: Paul Gilbert has an amazing song called "The echo song" that uses it and it's impressive. It would sound better on a bass played by Davie though.

Amorphis also use a lot of delay on the guitars. Songs like "The Way", "Sky is Mine", "God of Deception", and many more have masterfully crafted guitar riffs around the delay effect.

Hey Davie perhaps explore some great national treasure and play it on Bass. For me, im from Poland i really like "Dżem" its a very old band but Polish people will surely like to hear it. I dont know how it will work for bass but if you take song requests i would really like anything like "Sen o Victorii" "Whisky moja żono" "Czerwony jak cegła" "List do M" or anything you find im sure your Polish audience will be shocked to hear some good old sounds that bring us to tears. 70s were a good time to hear experimental filters on the bass. Funkadelic was using wah on bass as early as 1970 (maybe that was Bob Babbitt playing). Raymond Earl in Instant Funk, liked to use the phase on the Carl Carlton album 'I Wanna Be With You'. It was also used on bass on Roy Ayers 'Mystic Voyage' album.

I used to have a ring with a long, square stone on it. I wore it on my pinky. I'd flip the ring around and hit the string with it, making a sharp high-pitched sound that I worked into a song or two. Could probably have used it like a slide if it was on my left hand and it wasn't a family heirloom.

I'm known for making weird sounds on bass in my circle. Every time I play at the tavern someone tells me "I've never heard someone play bass like that before!". I'm like, idk what to tell you, I'm literally just playing the two most common scales. I think people just aren't used to hearing music where the bass plays multiple roles.
