Im too lazy to do this myself, but I can watch these diy videos all day and eventually will stop being lazy. How much did this cost though? Please tell me it was less than a $399 1up or equivalent.... I can already tell the quality is better, lol. I have some raspberry pi's that I could use

@@kevinclauson7613 there’s a lot of cost cutting you could do to save money . Like use a generic lcd and a pi. The artwork is the problem. Way too expensive. I could have used a wood control panel too which would have cost nothing to make. No coin door would save money . The good thing with a raspberry pi is you can actually use the correct rom 20 anniversary pacgal rom. The 1up doesn’t use the right rom. I have 1 more project and I think I’m done. Too much work.

Rexer I wish I had your skillset to make my own arcade cabinet. You make it all look pretty straightforward. I would be too afraid to mess up. It's reassuring tho that even you make mistakes like dropping the marquee by accident 😂 thanks for the video man

I'm sure they don't like the saw dust that goes all over. lol. I had a class of 81 , that was 3/4 scale, but i sold it, becuase I wanted to upgrade. And upgrade I did.

great build. I have a real class of 81 with the 25 inch CRT monitor. I run original class of 81 pcb and a phoenix arcadeSD pcb for additional games on a riddle switcher, as well. The shitty issue (you don't have it bc you are using an LCD) is when you switch , the horizontal/vertical sizing and the colors are off for each pcb. So i'd have to get to the pots and adjust the colors and sizing which is a huge pain the ass. I usually just play using the arcadeSD.

@@JeffYPbPr yes. That’s why I went with hdmi from the mister. Plus it’s a better picture on the mister than this crappy cga in lcd. I’m familiar with the switcher issue regarding pots and positioning because in have another switcher on another machine and have a similar issue.

Just takes some practice and some work. If you have 2 people, it makes a lot of it easier. But I did it all solo, so it can be done.

Wow this was quite the project! Came out looking great and must be way more satisfying to play on after completing the project rather than settling for the crap A1up version of Class of 81. Great video, watching you finish this project definitely inspires me to get started on one of my own 👍

Just takes a little work, a table saw and a jigsaw , a drill, and maybe some other tools. I was thinking about streaming 10 hrs per week for the last 2 years , but instead used the time to do something productive.

Awesome, although personally I think the joystick is tall (I thought it was smaller), and I hate lcd monitors, the fact you started this build from scratch is impressive and awesome, congrats on your new Ms. Pac-Man / Galaga / Mr Cade class of 81. I always was a fan of the Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga cabinet shape, which is why I got a multicade almost exactly like a ms. pac/galaga, it runs an arcadeshop pcb instead and is mostly black.

The original (repro) Ms pac Galaga joystick i had in it, I didn’t like , so I switched it with this joystick. I have a separate vid on the joystick , it’s a Dominux8.

@@therexershow Oh okay, personally I like the smaller size joysticks since it looks close to the original ones in the ms. pac-man and pac-man machines but I respect your decision.

@@MotownBatman yes site. Bring them the file and tell them you want full size. They actually let you use the machine yourself. Tell them you want the cheap method , not the machine in the back. It should cost around $30 though.

Great work….I recently completed a cabaret style Ms Pacman using 3/4 mdf throughout and 20 inch dell. Nothing beats the sturdiness of a true cab. Great video this is in your wheel house.

You sure could have. Then you would have a cheap POS with the wrong game, low quality parts, less games, tiny screen, horrible viewing angle, a wobbly product , the wrong art. a washed out marquee, a fake coin door, and kids size arcade. And every day you could look at it and say "why did I buy this, it looks stupid". So yes, you sure can.

Rgt told me to put a plastic cover on it for pizza grease. Not sure if you ever saw his 1up review where he was soo happy it came with plastic protector in case he got pizza grease on it. He said it 4 times in one video. lol

@@chriscravens4915 just the monitor and art was expensive. Everything else not so much. This official remake unit costs $3500 , and a real one goes for over $2000 at least. I was nowhere near that cost.
