One of my favorite things (so far) in this one is the little black leaf that got tucked behind the silver orb. It's little details like that that make watching you work so interesting and inspirational. I paused at the 5:29 mark so I could tell you this while the thought was fresh. Also the cup made circles ! 💝

@Fred-rs7py, I so appreciate that you called out that specific detail: ‘…little black leaf that got stuck behind the silver orb.’ Sweet!👊🏽😉❤

@@gabicreightonbooksetc. I i'm just learning about zentangling and neurographics and watercoloring so these videos are really helping me ... they are so valuable for getting ideas and seeing HOW to do things. IMO, this is one of the best of the video series and I watch a LOT of them !

Everything you do is amazing🎉 I made a similar one to one of your earlier posts, and my grandson (18) loved it. So I've put it in a frame, and it's hanging in his bedroom. THANKYOU

Just so lovely in every way, as always, Hu! I have sent five wc holiday cards to close family only, wc ornaments (two lg enough for sm frames , haha), and wc Christmas trees. In year’s past, before my heart failure, I hand made elaborate gifts for everyone. But, I’m most grateful to be alive and able to learn to draw (again), and learn wc as a bonus! I want to thank you for so many moments of feeling relaxed while watching your channel and all you have graciously shared here! I do appreciate you and definitely consider you a KZbin artist friend! Here’s to a Healthy, Peaceful and Happy New Year in 2025 to you and yours, Jules 💜🎨🎊

This is wonderful. Do you start with dry paper or do you pre-wet it?

Do you ever do just one design too many ? Like when I overwork a watercolour, thinking it’ll get better.

How do you keep the paper from buckling??
@huartdrawingКүн бұрын
I use thick paper. I tape it to the table if necessary.
@jlm517rocks21 сағат бұрын
ii've read abt dampening the reverse side first, then parchment paper on top, then heavy books til dried, taping down as Hu said... or... use a w/c paper block that's already glued down on 3(+) sides ... or enjoy the uniqueness, and do the parchment paper/heavy books tip afterwards.
@nancyjonesmusic21 сағат бұрын
@@jlm517rocks I’m using 400# cotton paper. Best you can get. I wet the back and tape it down but it still forms waves in the paper. So yea, I have those heavy magazines and heavy wood to straighten it.
@jlm517rocks21 сағат бұрын
@nancyjonesmusic ii wonder abt internal & external sizing... & if different types of cotton & different types of water affect the buckling... may have to do a deeper dive into French & Italian paper houses for tips... ii invested in a s-load of small to large diff paper sketchbooks this year, last year more single sheets... & sophie mcpike got me curious abt onion skin paper, it crinkles but is unique ... see through but doesn't bleed thru... definitely a rabbit trails year for me...

And he’s not using loads of water, only enough to get the paint to move. And he soaked up any puddles with a clean paper towel.
