When you were talking about naming the fifth wheel, "The Hankette" came to mind. Just a thought with no forethought. OK, I will be honest, when washing your truck, it did enter my thought processes to have you wash my RV. I used FlexSeal to fix the leak in my roof, it has held for several months now. Because of all the rain we are getting, I have not been able to get up there for the permanent fix.

0:45 running in to the truck mirror.. OUCH! Hello again from HTSAYTC! My new RV has the slide out on the drivers side. Previous RV that I had for 10 years had it on the passenger side. We have the exact same model Solitude 2930RL - we named ours Lola. If you ever watch Agents of Shield you will get the reference (Phil’s Corvette …). As for your roof, once you get Dicor or Alpha self-leveling sealant put down, you might want to order Eternabond tape (can get it in an-off-white color and 6” wide or use 2 4” strips) and place it over that seam across from one side to the other. We did this and will never have to worry about the lap sealant cracking or opening up because the Eternabond tape will seal over top of the stuff very well. Grand Design used tape over the rear seam all the way across on ours …. That is where I got the idea from to do the front since that area seems to cause the most issues. BTW - great video!

tip of the week..... there are several pivots and connection points on the rear suspension that a lube job wont grease..... use the 3in1 lube that you guys use on your slide outs since it is thick it will last much longer than wd40... spray into any rubber bushing, shock bolt, pivot or connection point on the rear suspension including in between each leaf spring since they rub against each other as they articulate and will squeak and creek if theyre dry.

Thanks again for making our evening entertaining and educational! There is a state park in South Carolina. I think it was Lake Hartwell where the road was up hill curving back and forth continuously. Our fresh water tank was about half full. The water in the tank ended up forcing the tank loose and we had water coming out everywhere under the RV. Got home and had to seal the old hole and make another one. We also bolstered the tank better to the frame. We learned how to fix plastic tanks too! Checking your roof and chalking is sooooooo important. As we have been looking for a used RV, we have seen many problems with delamination and soft interior walls because water has ruined the RV. If you are a newbie and want to sell your RV, remember this can cost you thousands if you do not chalk your roof. Your insurance will not cover a leaking roof. They look at that as poor maintenance.

For dry cleaning your truck or your camper, I found out that Windex or cheap pump glass cleaner works great. I saw Bad Chad using it on his 62 Ford. He said he uses it on his show cars just before the show. It works very well. Putting sealant over those holes is a bandaid that doesn’t fix the underlying issue. Keep watching the flexseal, it’s probably going to be cracking sooner than later. Looked like you were having a great party in the beginning! Beast Wishes, Kevin

Hey Guys! Love the videos. The lap Joint is separating because of two possible reasons. One would be because they may have used too short of a screw. Second would be that the silicone bead on the Front cap to the lap joint (Silicone Bead on the front side) gave way and water got in and softened the wood. Back that screw out on the lower corner and if its really short, get a longer one and get that anchored back down. peel off and clean the silicone with Alcohol and re seal that with a good Silicone like OSI or sika flex. One the back side of the joint where all the lap sealant is. Clean it with alcohol and or glass cleaner and only renew the areas that are cracked and where the branch gouge is with Dicor self leveling. Do not use silicone on the roof side! it will not stick to Dicor or your EDPM rubber roof. Eterna bond tape is good as a quick fix till you can do it right but not for a permanent repair. Hope this helps.

I also ditto the comments on the dicor sealant and the eternabond tape sealant! Amazon is your best buddy while on the road especially utilizing the Amazon lockers system. Ripped out one of my ceiling vents from a low hanging tree branch, was certain I had the clearance! So Amazon to the rescue lol. But do have some mineral spirits on hand to wipe down the area of repair, then use silca20 sealant to effect a durable repair. Dicor isn’t all that durable of a sealant, is soft and easily gouged as by overhead obstacles. I have found silca20 doesn’t remain as plyable as dicor but holds up much better over time. Hope my FYI helps, and Take Care!

Hi guys it’s me again LOL. Here’s a couple more ideas. Look into putting a set of airbags on your fifth wheel axles what they would be used for would be when you’re in spots where you’re scraping, you can lift your fifth wheel just a couple inches and not end up bending anything or seriously getting hung up and before you actually head out on the road let the airbags deflate. You can get them with a small pump everything mounts underneath the fifth wheel and it’s not a lot of extra weight maybe 20 pounds I’m thinking. As for your sealant issues, look into a cordless oscillating tool (I use a Dewalt brushless Atomic Although these are a little spends They really are worth their weight in gold. I have a scraper blade that mounts to the oscillating tool and I am able to take graphics off of my school bus and 90% of the glue under those graphics. Then it’s just a little bit of alcohol on a rag and take out the rest of the glue much much easier and faster to get that stuff off of the bus when you get good at it and have some practice you won’t do any damage at all to the paint. You do need to practice first and get good with that because it will cut down under the paint and scrape the snot out of your metal so be careful. Also a little hack that you can use to maintain the scraper blade is to use either a whetstone or a sharpening rod for knives and resurface the edge Because after use the edge will roll and become an effective this also takes practice I am a knife sharpening nut I can make a butter knife scalpel sharp so again getting oscillating tool and practice with it before you touch anything important and oscillating tool can be used for so many other things that’s crazy. I think the airbags on the fifth wheel suspension would make life so easy for getting out of tight spaces where you have to go over a hump or something either that or see about your leveling jacks tilting and fold them up against the bottom of the RV.

I applied the clear flex seal a few months ago, it has yellowed, and is a bit of an eye sore now. I guess it wouldn't be so bad on the roof, where nobody can see it,, but I applied it on the side. Then I tried to remove it with Mean Green. Nothing came off, except the trailer's paint above the flex seal. Oops. I want to paint over, but not sure what to use. Was thinking of Rustoleum spray, but afraid of making it worse.

Hi guys. I have a tip for you. When inflating your paddle boards, use an electric or a battery operated pump to inflate them most of the way, then use the hand pump to tighten them up. It will save you a lot of hand pumping. I find it works great with our kayaks.

So we had the same issue with our window over the bed in our first outing. The frame fell down and my husband did the same thing and nailed it back up with screws the same color. No problem since and yes we absolutely love our window. Nothing like waking in the morning with either sun or trees in our view with birds as alarm clocks. We really do love our Solitude 2930 RL and BTW we named our's Toodie!

Ok…so it’s me again. The flex seal in a punch. Got it. The Dicor preferably. Is the putty-looking stuff (where you think a stick poked into it) is that Dicor? If so…are you replacing yours soon? If so, how often? Thank you in advance. And again, thanks for the laugh…I must say, we “get each other” because about half way through the BBQ….I knew you guys would eventually pan to an empty camp. 😂😂😂
