I should tell him both maces second attack like to phase through longsword parries and it's easy to drag around from right to left and aim low to accel the mace attacks so they never hit the longsword or timing jump attacks works well since they're so vertical you can reliably hit above the longsword with the jump attack timing? He'll get the hand of it.
