The "Sun" part reminded me of the story of Amaterasu Omikami retreating into a cave after her brother Susano subjected her to a blasphemous prank in a fit of rage when she claimed she was victorious in a divine contest they engaged in. All the Gods and Goddesses began to sing and offer her gifts outside of the cave to draw her out, as her absence drowned the world in darkness. In the end, they drew her out with the sacred item Yata no Kagami - a mirror (that unironically looks like a shield), which was hung from a tree along with the Yasakani no Magatama, a bead which captures benevolence and perfection. The two items combined captured such a perfect reflection of Amaterasu Omikami's essence that she thought it was a Goddess more beautiful than her - as she was momentarily stunned, they closed the cave entrance behind her and sealed it with a heavenly stone. Afterwards, Susano, banished from heavens, goes through a sequence of events that lead him to fight Yamato no Orochi. During their battle, he found the sword Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi while cutting off the serpent's fourth tail. He later gave the sword to Amaterasu Omikami to make amends for his actions, and at that point, she had the 3 items which are currently known as Japan's imperial regalia.
