Is there a zipper on the inside of the backpack that holds the portable charger? I've seen that accessory in some other Mark Ryden backpacks. If it does, does your battery pack not fit in it?

The zip holds the slot (USB) from the inside and the power bank needs to be kept inside any of the pockets that I have shown, hope that helps.

can you fit a 17inch laptop in there?

15 inch would be very appropriate, 17 inch would go in with difficulty, wouldn't recommend it
