Omg you have given me so many great ideas on what to use to finish the cardboard Barbie castle my granddaughter and I are building !!! I have just moved into my new place and have a huge surplus of cardboard boxes so we decided to build a castle but I wasnt sure how I was going to get a nice stone like texture for the castle walls and when I seen what you used for the roof of your little round birdhouse ....yes egg cartons ripped up is PERFECT and it won't be too heavy either and it will look just like ancient stonework!!!! All your ideas are brilliant ty ty ty!!!!

Your little round box wall decoration is really nice !! I'm in the process of altering cat litter boxes and plan to cover them with hemp twine or rope. I've branded the twine, but it takes lots of braid to fill the whole outside of the boxes. Thanks for the idea of crocheting a chain to cover them. I could just crochet panels for the sides and glue them on then trim them with braid. It wouldn't take as long and all of the boxes would be uniform and look really nice on a book shelf. I'm using them to store my paper craft supplies and tools. I'm using the arm and hammer litter and the boxes are strong enough to last and last !! Thanks for sharing your ideas !!

I made some storage shelves from my cat litter boxes. Painted them white and added contact paper trim. Was short on contact paper. Now I will make a chest of drawers for my craftroom. 6 fit in a cheweys box, if I can make the box taller to hold all the drawers completely. a second same box cut up should add the few additional inches, but the box itself hold four stacked flat and 2 on the side stacked tal!. Perfect sizes for craft papers. Painting or covering with contact paper stops bugs from wanting to live in cardboard!

You're exaggerating... It's flimsy and wouldn't support what she's displaying it for use.. It would fall apart... But there are many ways to inforce the strength just with tissue and mod podge. The last few were pretty nice Be safe and well. *Ellen* Blessings To You And Yours.

As an alternative to making the chain by hand, a crochet hook would make super speedy work of it. Like 30 seconds, compared to several minutes.

I love this! My front room is loaded with empty cardboard boxes of multiple sizes (we are still settling in after two years - my husband works graveyard, and there isn't much time to organize while he's sleeping during the day). Thanks to this video, I now have lots of uses for them instead to taking them to a recycling site! BUT I have a question: What is the watery stuff that is applied with a paint brush? Sometimes it's white, and sometimes it's clear.

It's white glue and water mixed. (Home-made decoupage) It dries clear. It adds strength to the product.

They are paper serviettes napkins. And the name of this application, is called decoupage. Sticking the napkins to the craft item with PVA or white watered down glue. It’s very relaxing and decorative.❤
