Saving and investing lifestyle in the stock and forex market made it possible for us this early, even till now we earn weekly.

Love the videos - although conceptually this is amazing, one thing I think is worth mentioning is that the 1M that someone has today is going to be worth more than the 1M that someone will have in ~47 years, assuming both of them retire at 65. I believe in a previous post of yours, either here or on Instagram, the projected real world "worth" of 1M in 30+ years would be ~300k in current dollars. So, obviously, the 18 year old with 10K wins because you have time to LIVE on your side, but monetarily speaking the 18 year old would need to invest enough throughout their working career to have roughly 3M to be in the equivalent financial situation that the 65 year old with 1M today is in. Again, huge fan of everything you guys do, and i recognize this comment is extremely nit picking, but I feel it's worth the general population being aware of.

Why not do this as well if it means getting this message to a younger audience?

between my 20y/o son's utma opened at 17 and his roth opened in 2023 he currently has 27.7K or so. mainly funded by me especially a big tranche last month going into his utma after reading die with zero. i decided to give him what he saved from his state college scholarship in 2024 and took that amount from his 529 and stuck it in the UTMA. he takes control at 21. i'll pay the marginal tax on the equivalent scholarship amount but should not be subject to 10% penalty. i'll do the same thing for 2025 bit missed the boat on this strategy for 22 and 23. there will be some tax drag on the utma but it's already in vti so about as efficient as i can make it. i'll help him with tax gain harvesting the next year or so to reset that cost basis as i am sure he will fall into the 0 cap gains rate in income for the next few yrs.
@glasshalffull293011 күн бұрын
Great idea to reward the scholarship!!! In my state, every dollar in private scholarships is deducted from any state funding he might have received. So it is not worth even applying for a scholarship unless ‘maybe’ if you’re poor. We never told our son that all the effort he made in applying for the scholarships was a wash.
@Random-ld6wg11 күн бұрын
@glasshalffull2930 we are lucky in that the state covers college tuition fees( no other fees ) in any state university so long as you graduated high school here.

The 60 year old has $1MM in 2024, the 20 year old will have $1,080,000 is 2064. Probably buy a box on pencils at that time
@MrTrinidaddy11 күн бұрын
Better to have 1m that can buy a box of pencils than to have nothing though. Inflation happens whether you invest or not and historically the stock market has beaten inflation over any 30 year period you can choose. If in the future it doesn’t, then the whole system has probably collapsed and you have much worse problems to worry about

For the clips that you swap in with a transition sound, I find this very distracting. The swoosh sound is repetitive and a bit annoying. When you throw graphics and clips without the swoosh transition sound, it’s much smoother.
@englesledgehammer10 күн бұрын
Sorry Brian, I'm with the trolls on this one. Obviously it would be better to be 18 instead of 65 regardless of how much money each has. The extra decades of life are priceless. But, when the 18 year old gets to retirement age their 1.08M is worth WAY less than the 65 year old person with 1M today. I really hate that the 88x meme and the wealth multiplier in general ignores inflation. Not to mention, there's real possibility that over the next 50 years, the average market returns could shift from the approximately 10% that has been the long-term status quo.
@JohnDoe_160910 күн бұрын
The roi they use goes down as the person ages so I feel it it is realistic. As for 1m, of course inflation affects it but it still could result in a significant % of your Number, plus at that age it is a premarital asset. I wish I had a third of my number saved from a relatively small investment early on. Just my 2 cents (or should I say $1.76 ;) )
@englesledgehammer10 күн бұрын
@JohnDoe_1609 the ROI decrease is modeling typical risk rebalancing, it's not related to inflation or long-term shifts in market returns.

I mean...... think about it this way, though. The 18 year old would also have to put in an additional 47 years of work for that extra $80k over the 65 year old. Cost/benefit-wise, I'd say the 65 year old has it better. The work is already done. I'd gladly pay $80k to not have to work for 47 years. Haha. That being said, I'd still rather be 18 again because I know I can do better than I did now. I didn't make any major mistakes investing. In fact, my only real regret is that I didn't start until I was 28. Better late than never, I guess.

@sliceofpay8 күн бұрын
The power of time and compounding growth is what they are hitting on. That's nice to say that you would want a million dollars now, but how many 18-25 year olds have a million dollars? Versus if they save even just a little bit when they are young it will compound and grow exponentially to well over a million dollars.
