The bell shaped piece that came up with the axe is the receiver for an antique telephone. Also, the axe is a "Jersey pattern" axe, worth some good money all cleaned up(buffing wheel)

Agreed! the Telephone receiver is probably one of the most valuable thing he has found next to the old road sign that has red glass in it. As far as antique value.

At 2:17 that is a harmonic balancer. At 2:42 a timing chain gear and at 3:00 a crankshaft all from an engine. At 9:11 that is the earpiece from a candlestick telephone.
