Of all your retirement / life improvement videos, I like this one as well. For me, I don't do formal meditation but a mini-version of it all the time. Like that old saying, I try to "slow down - stop and smell the roses" when needed. Or, I would go for a walk to "think the solution out...". Or, I would often "percolate" (like an old coffee pot) several nights and many times, I would wake up at 3 - 4 AM with the correct answer. Some folks can do formal and "timed" meditation every day. Other folks (like me) do mini-versions of it / and don't purposely force it. And yes, we all need to "clear our minds" to create a solution, calm the mind and to calm the physical body. Thank you for this video / life improvement change. You guys "get it"....

It's the best investment in ourselves. Yes it takes a long time and you will think nothing is happening but don't give up. It will change your life for the better especially as we get older. It will change our thinking patterns drastically.

Yes agreed. I think many people try it but stop because they don’t feel a change. It’s something that takes time to learn and feel the benefits. But once you start to feel the change, it can change your life.

Good overview of meditation practice. I am practicing meditation ever since growing up. Thanks to my parents.I practice breath work fallowed by brief meditation every morning. My main sitting meditation is just before I go to bed about twenty minutes. I do believe in meditation snacks where you do short meditation a minute or so throughout the waking hours. I am a yoga practitioner and the study of Yogasutra helps a lot. Again thanks for posting this practical and useful video.

You mentioned that it was a doctor who recommended that you meditate. Was this doctor a practitioner of a specific modality of medicine (i.e., functional medicine or integrative medicine)? As far as I can tell, traditional western (allopathic) medicine treats the physical body separately from the mind, with an over reliance on drugs and chemicals.

Wonderful! Let us know how it goes. Dont quit! It will take some time to make it a habit and feel the effects. But you will notice a change so stick with it.
