Centuries ago they fought with spears and arrows, then muskets, cannon balls etc. So if those people could have looked into the future and saw what they even had in WW1 and then WW2, they would have called that terrifying modern warfare and a taste of things to come. So it's no surprise what they have today. But for every modern piece of military equipment that one side invents, the enemy learns from that, and either creates a counter measure or similar or better weapons. So obviously Tanks and armored vehicles are becoming useless on the battlefields today, but you can be certain that even drones will become useless eventually, because measures or new technology will be invented to deal with them also. In the future there will be no armies walking across battlefields, it will be robots and automated military equipment. The movie Terminator is becoming a reality nowadays.

I am very appreciative you describe those little skirmishes in detail, but I sometimes miss an overall assessment of the war, and since you choose just those fights from the front-lines where you see an advantage of the Ukrainians, that can easily lead to a somewhat too positive view on the battlefield.
