You won't believe that this is Switzerland! 🇨🇭 Walking in Locarno (Ticino)

Locarno is a Swiss town on the shores of Lago Maggiore. Its famous for its Italian flair (dolce vita), wonderful location among hills and the lake and its yearly film festival. Because of its warm climate, Locarno is also called the city of flowers. The Piazza Grande, the popular main square, is perfect for a coffee or a lunch. The old town, just behind the square, is full of boutiques and small alleys. If you go higher up the hills you get a great view of the surroundings, even the neighbouring city of Ascona. If you wan to go even higher up, you can visit Madonna del Sasso (famous pilgrimage church) or up to Cardada, the mountain behind Locarno.
If you visit Locarno, you will be at a great hub to explore the Canton of Ticino. Best you start with the neighbouring city of Ascona ( • Ascona, where the Swis... ) or you head up the Maggia Valley to traditional stone villages such as Sabbione ( • Real Life HOBBIT Town ... ). Alternatively you can visit the Verzasca Valley with popular villages like Lavertezzo, or less popular ones like San Bartolomeo ( • The dreamy village of ... ) or Sonogno ( • Sonogno in Ticino 🇨🇭 A... ).

Leider hat Corona auch an Locarno seine Spuren hinterlassen. Preise die vorher schon hoch genug waren sind zusätzlich gestiegen, in der Fußgängerzone stehen einige Läden leer und erhöhen somit nicht unbedingt das Stadtflair. Dazu kommt, dass Globus demnächst auch noch schliesst.....

Why didn't you put up images of the beautiful castle? The lungolago, piazza grande and città vecchia are beautiful, but to go to Locarno and not see the castle is a shame.

Vive en los cerros o colina ( faldas), esas casas tienen buena presentación artística, en cambio en la Capital del Perú la población viven en la as faldas de los cerros y tienen mal aspecto, nada artístico como por ejemplo ocurre en el Cerro San Cristóbal que tienen un mal aspecto , afea el fondo del Palacio de d de gobierno y un río apestoso d oi ocurre casi junto al Palacio de Gobierno. A y así le llaman pomposamente la Ciudad de los Reyes , cuando realmente debió llamarse la ciudad de los Virreys , ya que ningún Monarca Español visito Lima en la época de la Colonia
