Fixing dado using grab adhesive and a few temporary pins under to stop it slipping is easier as very hard to hide screw fixings but coming on great.I ditched my dado rails 20 years ago lol. Sharon is very good at painting furniture coming from an ex decorator

I think you are both doing soooo well with the decorating. It takes time anyway and you have a very busy life that is still going on while you show us things. you are BOTH champions. I have been known to taste something with a finger and then taste is again the same way. My germs and all of my families germs have united in a very friendly way lol. But it is each to their own. The ragged apron has really excelled with their new meals and the up dates. That ceiling beam looks perfectly acceptable, I would just paint the same colour as your ceiling. I Installed dado rail just using liquid nails in our lounge, still hasn't fallen off in well over twenty years.

It's great to see all your hard work coming together. A trip to the Ragged Apron too. That's where I would be in between everything you do. The wood works really well on the ceiling and the dado rail fits in well too. The chimney breast was the right choice and I think the fireplace stands out more, I like it. Just another tip on paint. I never use fence paint i always use masonry. You can get it mixed in any colour, its solid and lasts for years on wood 😊 Looking great guys 👍

We put a dado rail up our staircase, essentially to break up the massive drop. Love the style of our staircase/stairwell: turns with mini landings. Great...until you decide to put up a dado rail! Well, gotta say, after wasting loads of wood with the confusion of internal/external corners 🤪 and swearing like troopers , we broke off and watched a KZbin tutorial. A young 🇺🇸 fella who was just a DIYer.: chose him cos he worked in Imperial!😂 (yeah we're old codgers!). Well...courtesy of him and a McDonald's Happy Meal Simpsons Protractor (seriously!) in our grandson's stuff, we made a brilliant job of it! Even now, 9yrs on, we stand there asking each other "How did we manage that??!". Following your DIY vids because we're a bit DIY'd out now to do any ourselves after 44yrs of it. Can't wait for the Big Reveal !🥳 🎉
