i think this is one of my favorite videos 🤙🏼 so many crazy level tricks in one video ! air tricks have gotten so advanced it’s insane

Talking between ourselves here we agreed that minus a backside 317 these are for sure the best wakeboarding air tricks ever landed to date
@hisdudeness88177 ай бұрын
I just can't figure out why wakeboarding as a collective decided air tricks are not cool anymore. How the fuck can you not love these moves?😮
@JoshDoubles7 ай бұрын
Because people who were scared of them needed an excuse not to do them so they said they didnt look good. Well thats what a couple of the older riders from my local park say at least haha
@ThePeacockBrothers7 ай бұрын
Air tricks do require a lot of power, and take a toll on your body quite quickly. With the progression of rails and the new possibilities they have opened up riders are able to ride for longer and still push the limits of wakeboarding in different ways Air tricks are still cool af though that is agreed haha

My guess: Cable operators do not like them, because it takes a toll on the carriers and loose/untuned carriers put riders doing airtricks in danger, so you can not get away with not-so-perfect cable maintenance. Also more risk of rider injuries so more liability. And the industry as a whole loves obstacles: easier to differentiate between wake parks, boards wear much much quicker, market for kicker/ramps/... Pre-obstacles, cable wakeboarding was cheaper: you could use a boat board (in fact you had to, there was no cable-specific board) and this board would last almost forever. Ride/season ticket was cheaper because they just had to maintain the cable, not build and update their obstacle set. Finally, for some reason, skateboard heavily influencing all "extreme" sports where you ride sideways is a constant pattern. It happened in snowboard, in wakeboard, even in surf which is the grandfather of all and fathered skateboard, ironically...Even kitesurf is not immune, only windsurfing seems to be (maybe it choose to die instead? ;-) )

Because lots of avid wakeboarders don’t have the balls to do them. The only threat they pose to a cable operator is that you can risk pinging a rope, which they should be trained to respond to anyways. Catching edges, and spending the time to learn is just part of wakeboarding. Just because they are hard, shouldn’t stop you from learning them. They are so exciting and there’s nothing else in the world that feels so cool like doing an air trick. They are really exciting to watch obviously and demonstrate truly how good you are at riding a wakeboard.

The level is just insane! Personally, air tricks is what separates boys from men in wakeboarding. The number and severity of the crashed one needs to be willing to endure to learn even the basics takes serious dedication.
@borilsopov81607 ай бұрын
It also tends to separate men from boards and bindings…just saying😂

Love this vid, counterbalance all the no-airtrick competitions poping up here and there. Personally I learned on old 4-pole cable with 2 homemade kickers, at most. Kind of miss clean lines without so many floating plastic obstacles 😜

from a tutorial perspective, would love a vid on how to bride that gap from having consistent r2rev/backroll 360 style height to setting that super aggressive ass nearl-in-the-water edge to get the height for the more advanced airs. if i try set an edge that hard, i either get stuck on takeoff or hold on too late and lose the tension

Legendary! Absolutely astonishing comp 🔥 I wonder tho what exactly happened to Rudy's equipment - is there any board part or binding part have been ripped off? Or just screws broke out of the threads?

how are you guys able to be wakeboarding all season long ? every day I'm out on the water I feel like I've been hit by a train, the next couple of days I'm a wreck, my hole body is in pain, and generally I'm in good physical shape, with all my fitness discipline I'm still getting my ass kicked !!!! how ???
@ThePeacockBrothers6 ай бұрын
A good mix of riding and rest days, try to make the most of some short sessions, rather than riding for hours just doing the same things! It definitely takes its toll on your body but stretching, foam roller and other exercises help as well!
