He has already been guaranteed the closest possible place in Firdaus near to Allah. The faithful are asked to add this invocation of blessings onto the Prophet for their own benefit, because it gives them a certain amount of credits in the “Golden book”whenever they do it. Not doing it is not necessarily a sign of disrespect towards the Prophet pbuh, but a missed chance to collect more hassanat.
