I was thinking the HD Hero was the first GoPro Hero model because that was the oldest model I heard about. I didn't know until now that there was a Digital Hero before that, and even before that, the original Hero that was a film camera. I think the HD Hero2 was where they shifted focus from taking photos to recording videos when they could put in larger amounts of storage.

I really assume they wanted to make it higher quality, but the better quality you make a camera the more it costs, exponentially so. they probably put all their budget into the nice polycarb case. ofc it's also possible they grabbed the cheapest off the shelf 35mm camera and made a case around it

It's a shame how bad gopros are now because they'd be the perfect camera, if they weren't so dang buggy and hot. they really need to stop shoving the best sensor in an old camera and calling it a day, they need to entirely revamp the software and computer part (because they haven't updated the hardware at all and it got worse and worse with each generation and new feature.

You're not wrong, the entire thing is a mess now. Software stabilization is the only real improvement, but it came at the cost of overheating, random shutdowns, and lost footage 😬

I dont like go pros cause they cut your 2 hour long videos into like 10 12 min long videos. i know theres annoying programs to use to stich it together but its a hassle.

I own all go pros. And yes the first go pro was a 35mm. I own it. From it came out. The go pro is the two there is another version small two triple a batteries. I own that as well.

Lacks the rubber gasssskkkket but hey - would have been curious to see the result of a preloading film in this cam! Thanks for the time!
