my boss at an old job knew exactly where he left everything in 1991 and if it wasn't there anymore (a lot of times it was, surprisingly) he'd get mad that we threw it away so we always lied that we used it on that one job a couple of months ago

I work in city construction and water maintenance. The worksite is like an NC-17 TV-MA movie. So much swearing, cussing, swearing, and cussing and swearing more with cuss words that don't even go together. Ironically, it makes the nail go into the 2 by 4 correctly. After you've bent the nail into a 45 degree angle.

I work at a mechanic shop, there’s nothing in the world more accurate than the bathroom. I swear to God that thing hasn’t been cleaned in 15 years. And the extension cord rat nest is a must. Every time someone breaks an extension cord they just chuck it in a pile

things start to multiply if you are not careful I swear I go into the shop at the Ranch and there will be more furniture in there then last time I just burn it I do not like to see anything more then folding chairs and the roller tables that are cleaned off after a project if I find crap sitting on it for over 2 weeks it goes in the dumpster the wall benches are the worst they just breed crap like weird screws no one knows where they go to odd shaped wood pieces I just chuck all that crap I would rather go to town and buy something again that I threw out then to dig through trash finding the one thing I need. Someone once threw sockets into 5 gallon buckets that had everything from all different kinds of nails to weird fittings and brackets that fit nothing etc I just dumped the buckets into the metal recycle bin and went out and bought a new socket set in a locking box at the time it was $75 napa sockets I figure would I pay someone per hour to sort nuts nails and bolts when you can buy that crap by the pound and do something more productive. another thing that drives me nuts is people will cut off the end of a extension cord " in case they might need one down the road" next thing you know you have them hanging all over the peg board I toss all that crap even water hoses I throw them out instead of putting a end on it I have much better things to do..........and do not get me started on baby food jars full of cotter pins / used spark plugs how many %^&*(@ cotter pins does the average person need????? the take away is this if it is a used part and on a shelf throw it out if it was any good it would be on the machine.
