You just gotta get used to understanding context if you watch donghua. Mandarin apparently doesn't specify gender for some of its pronouns so when the translators are using machine translation or aren't good with context you get things wrong. It's super common.

Yes the story is good but no the graphics are cheap. I recommend you look at Yuewen Animation's anime. They don't have a lot of Donghua, but the quality is very good. As they say, quality is better than quantity! 👌🏼
