Piano is the late great Anthony Burger. He tragically had a heart attack while on a cruise ship during one of these Gaither Concerts. He was revered as the great gospel pianist then and still today after his death.

He sounded excellent! It sucks that he's not with us anymore.

Yes Guy Penrod sings Lead tenor, David Phelps does the 1st tenor and Mark Lowry the Baritone(even though he’s a tenor as well). That note at the end is actually David’s highest belted chest note “F5”(Guy and David’s range compliments each other due to not every tenor being able to harmonize with them when their singing up in the stratosphere)…while Guy was on a “C#5”( the same high note David hits in let freedom ring) both very high…Guy Penrod also chest belts a F5 in a gaither song that David is in called “Good Good news” which was amazing…and yes the gaither vocal band does a vast array of mixtures In their songs…so R n B, country, rock, pop, opera, acapella etc which is why this song has a barber shop feel

Glad you enjoyed this one! It's a favorite of mine. This is my personal favorite configuration of the Vocal Band. There have been some extraordinary voices connected to the group over the years, but this is my preferred line-up. There is an earlier version of this song, before David joined the group. The tenor then was Jonathan Pierce. Guy sang the lead, but he and Jonathan did not end the song like Guy and David did here.

This was before Bill started using David more in the songs.
