Ha. I remember reading somewhere that the reason he was moving too slow in this movie compared to others was cus he had been shot 5 times. So he was weak. at the point he almost got to Laurie as she climb through the small window, he also had to follow her through that. by the time he reach the elevator he was too weak to even bother opening it. of course later on his rage and adrenaline kicked in once again and he was strong enough to break through a door.

Ms. Movies I am SO impressed! I’ve seen several reaction videos to this movie, and no one seemed to realize that the power was out in the hospital later in the movie, and the emergency generator lights were on, except you. There is actually a deleted scene (you can find it on KZbin) that shows the power going out (Michael Myers did it of course) and the emergency generator lights coming on. This happens while the staff is struggling to restrain and sedate Laurie, who is freaking out and trying to get out of bed to leave the hospital. It’s insane that the producers left this scene out of the movie, because it explains why the hospital is much dimmer later, plus it’s just a very good and intense scene overall. EXCELLENT reaction from both of you BTW :-]

@@Drforrester31 Doesn't have to be 90 minutes. 100-120 minutes is reasonable enough, mostly in the 110-120 range. In the novelization of the first Halloween there is a preface where an ancient Irish man killed a girl and a boy are killed by a jealous boy. The killer is put to death and the druids put a curse on his spirit and occasionally this spirit possesses someone else and goes on a murder spree for periods of times and it hints that this is what happened to Michael.

Laurie freaks out when Jimmy comes to tell her that "Michael" is dead and several members of the staff come in to try to restrain her and that's when the lights go out and the emergency generator kicks on. @@jamestyer8294and with you saying Enda is why I understand why most people don't like Halloween Ends. See how you knew the Enda story. Corey was Enda = the town freak and Michael is what the curse made. They made them meet in that movie but Michael was too old. Like the story the town freak (because of the accident/murder of the little boy also who was gonna be the next Michael but died he heard voices like Michael did) falls in love with the town princess 👸 but they changed it by connecting the two. Like the story the same jealousy that started the curse got to Corey because of Michael when he met him in the sewer. When he got rejected by (remember rejection is what took Enda to the edge) the ex-boyfriend and Laurie he went full Michael until getting killed then they had Laurie kill Michael and like in the story where the town tear up Enda's body they Tore up Michael's body. A full circle 🔄 but it was strange they used it that way and since most don't know the Enda story or how it connects people didn't like Halloween ends but if you get it it's not so bad

The scenes at the hospital with the mother and her son (dressed as a pirate) with the bleeding mouth as a result of an injury from biting a razor blade was originally supposed to be the first look at Carpenter and Hill's anthology idea for the series, after this film.

it's a choose your own adventure type series. You can just watch Halloween 1978 and never watch anything else. Just leave it there. John Carpenter never intended to another. but money brought him back. So then you watch both 1978 and it's original sequel and call it quits after that. that's one little story wrapped up. But of course we can then jump the first of the main timelines. The Thorn timeline. which consists of 1, 2 4, 5 and 6. and again another story ends. Then the H20 timeline. This story ignores the events and characters featured in 4, 5, and 6. So the story is 1, 2, H20, and Resurrection. Then of course the new Timeline. Halloween 1978, 2018, Halloween Kills (coming out this week) and then Halloween Ends. Originally the H20 timeline was going to be a continuation from part 6. a certain character was mentioned in the script but they choose not to bring it up.

I saw this when it came out with another classic, The Funhouse. My brother made me stay an watch it as many time until I stopped closing my eyes and turning away. We got to the theater at 12 noon and left at about 11 pm at night. The Double feature did a job on me but the movie that gave me nightmares was The Funhouse. Kept seeing that kids face all night long with our heater on and the orange glow off the walls. That night, I also discovered my happy place and no longer had nightmares after this point. My brothers day of torture worked.

What makes me laugh about this movie is Loomis ‘I SHOT HIM SIX TIMES!!’ As Decker Shado pointed out, Loomis had a ‘six shooter’ and actually only shot Michael FIVE times. At the end of the original Halloween 78, Loomis shoots him six times, once in the hallway and five times in the bedroom knocking him off the balcony. At the beginning of Halloween II 81 due to an editing mistake you can actually hear seven gunshots. Later in HII Loomis is seen reloading his gun with Sherriff Brackett and Brackett tells him to put it away. Loomis fires one round out the window to get the US marshall to turn around and then only has the five rounds available in the hospital at the end of HII, Loomis facial expression shows the, I just screwed up moment.

I emailed my assistant and had her investigate this and she says 'He (Myers) was shot six times'. I then decided to do a search on KZbin for 'Michael Myers Shot Halloween 1978' and got a few hits myself. After slowing the speed of the video to 0.25x, I was able to determine that he was indeed shot AT six times. But since there was no autopsy for him (technically, he never died) we have no way of knowing for sure every bullet hit him. So, I emailed my assistant and told her to see if she can slow down the video even more and see if the bullets can be seen hitting Myers. That could clear all this up.
