Hugh Grant had his phone hacked by the UK press and spent months attending court and enquiries. Part of the reason Guy Richie asked him to play the character was a chance for Grant to get revenge.

He is considered the best addition by many, and it's a beloved film. You liking it does NOT mean it's underrated. It's an insult to twist defitinitions based on personal feelings. The one other Guy Ritchie movie to watch is 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' (1998) if you liked these 2. I never expected to see another Guy Ritchie film I would like, until seeing The Gentlemen. Because after Snatch he seemed to disappear / became a bit of a flop merchant. Anyway I was always glad that his films came along at the right time and replaced the '4 Weddings'/Notting Hill' awfulness that ill-represented England in the film world.

2 aspects of this film I legitimately find awesome and unique in the Gang Film Genre is 1. The Comparison to Prohibition when it comes to the Value that would arise in the aftermath of a Legalized Weed Business after centuries of it being Illegal and 2. The Generational Divide among Gangsters between the Young and The old.
