War movies sometimes gloss over the true horrors of combat. You might get a soldier dying in the arms of a comrade or someone stepping on a land mine (though they avoid a too gruesome depiction), but Rambo 4 doesn't flinch at all - war is violent and terrifying, everything happens so fast you don't have much time to think. Adrenalin takes over. It's hard to watch in a movie, but Stallone wanted the world to know that war happens all over the globe, right now, somewhere... People are suffering at the hands of others. And when Rambo says 'you won't change anything', my god does it punch hard. There will always be war, and genocide. Peace is very precious. This is why we all need to be a little kinder to each other, because at least we have that opportunity. Loved your reaction to the Rambo movies, Mr and Mrs. As always, thank you!

This movie probably has one of the greatest lines I've ever heard and when he said it it inspired a lot of the Burmese people to try and change and it's simple it's really simple *"Live for nothing or die for something your call."* That line is so simple and yet so profound what are you living for? Why are you doing what you do? It isn't worth doing?

My Brother and I went to see this at a matinee when it came out and a group of about 20 elderly people came in and sat in the row in front of us. It must have been a nursing home excursion. Through this whole film, every time something truly gory or violent happened I looked at this old lady diagonal to me because she was so into it and softly saying, "WOW!" She must have been about 80. I love this movie. This is probably the best in the series for me. That 50 cal scene is epic!

The scene where he has to avoid being seen in the village & the soldiers are making the girls dance, but he just has to keep going & avoid saving them and their screams still is one of the worst scenes I've seen in a movie. FYI the bomb that Rambo turned into a trap is called a Grand Slam, the second biggest bomb of WW2( excluding Nukes) and able to produce earthquake shockwave power for which it was designed for, penetrate hard surfaces and explode beneath the target causing the devastation you see in this movie. The 50 cal scene is the most accurate depiction of heavy machine gun fire on the human body. If someone already hasn't mentioned it already, all of the Burmese characters including the rebels pirates and soldiers are Karin they had a lot of fun making this movie and Stallone couldn't stop laughing and having fun along with them.

Fortunately I was able to teavel to Thailand and facilitate her escape. It's horrific there again. The UN and international community have turned their backs on the people of Burma. The "sniper rifle" in this film is a Barrett M107 anti-material rifle. It's mostly used in situations like, say if you have to stop a truck that's barrelling towards a checkpoint, and less for actual sniper teams. It weighs 35 pounds, so it's not exactly something you want to bring along if you need to be able to move on foot.

Coming back to this movie it really portrays a fine line on the message that you can't help everybody. We applaud and admire the work of institutions like doctors without borders, and yet, and I bet even they know, the "difference" they make means everything to the people they help.....only for the time they're there, wherever they are. Sad cruel world we live in, if we're on the western side of it we should be nothing but grateful and humbled.

I was an 0331(Machine gunner) in the Marine Corps and that scene with the Ma Deuce was accurate except for two things. It didn't constantly jam every couple rounds and even a round as big as a .50 won't send someone flying. Everything else was accurate though. From tearing limbs off to cutting someone in half to punching fist sized holes through vehicles to ripping right through crowds of men. Hell, I've seen it blow holes the size of a grape fruit straight through the engine block of a large truck.

If I remember correctly some of the dead bodies were real and that when filming this they narrowly avoided being shot by the Burmese military.

i remember when this movie released, people from Myanmar felt like somehow they saw the light in the end of the tunnel.... so many emotions, i remember when Rambo killed those Burmese soldiers...everybody in the movie theater..cheered and shouted for Rambo... i remembered some of them were crying with mixed reaction... like they were looking for a hero to save their country....so many memories ... back in 2008 this movie was very very illegal to watch. Now U can get arrested and sent to prision if you watch this movie. Again, the burmese people are still fighting the dictatorship after the coup 2021 on February, now even it more intense than the last 70 years civil war. Now every states of the country (people defence force) are fighting. Everyday is fighting now.

The type of gun that schoolboy uses is what is called a Barrett sniper rifle and it fires 50 caliber shells and the muzzle velocity is so powerful that the enemy won't feel the bullet pass through before they're dead so when you see the shots where the guy's head just blows up that's because the gun was fired really fast before the guy realized he was dead...
