Man you guys have a problem with your coaching in England. Never has an English manager won the Premiere league. The last European Cup won by an English manager was in 1984. Surprised to hear people were seriously criticising Saka for his first half? He was one of the brightest players for the first 45 alongside Bellingham going forward. Yes he was shut down in the second half but as a whole the entire team dropped off. I hope we grow into the tournament because we play as poorly as we did in the second half against the more dangerous teams and we'll be found out for sure.

Trent has the ability to turn defence into attack with one kick of the ball if you put player willing to run into open space. The problem is foden, saka and kane wants the ball playet to their feet most of the time

Let it NEVER be said that Gallagher doesn't have the know-how to play possession football. After the watching the Dutch movement earlier in the day only 3 England players passed and moved in the same way, Gallagher was one of them. The others pass, pause and maybe move. Trents mistake in the first half came because Trippier was too slow to make an angle for him. This left Trent with no option other than to try and control the ball under pressure. Mount, Chilwell, Reece and Grealish make a huge difference in this aspect of the game. When Younes talks about "rhythm" I think it's this aspect of the game he's referring to.

I'm a Ghanaian. Watching this game, I had only one thing to say; England should be playing a more attractive brand of football with the quality they have in their squad. They should be able to dominate and rip teams apart. You need to get a proper proper gaffer. The substitutions were horrific.

Gallagher did more than Trent in just 20 mins. Bowen did more than Saka after he came on. Stones looked shaky. Foden and Kane were shockingly bad. Idc next match Palmer, Gallagher and Eze/Gordon at LW has to start.

I agree with you here, Younes. Kind of amazing how Gareth Southgate has been the England manager for so long. Trying to shut down a game after one early goal is ironically a bigger risk than going for more goals, as it became more of a defensive struggle for the majority of the game.

Trent shouldn't be playing midfield, he can't play when he's congested, he creates more from playing a wing back role. Eza or Palmer should of come on for Foden in the later half for creativity or counter attack.

I'm glad I didn't wake up at dawn to watch England. I was hopeful and excited, right? That finally, England can play good football. Even with Southgate, with this amount of talents, surely we can see flairs of exciting football. Right? _Sigh..._ I've always been a Germany fan at heart since I was a kid. But whenever I see the England squad, I couldn't help but get excited. But alas, I was disappointed time and again for the borefest that this footballing nation put on the pitch. Boring and pragmatic game. When they win, they say "we get our results." When they lose, they say "we did our best." 😥

Tale of two halves. Diminant first half, faded and less competitive second half. Kane, Fodden, Trent Alexander and even Saka had sub par game. Was hoping to see Gordon, Palmer, Bowen and Watkins introduced to pick up the pace, domination and potential chances created. Perhaps later Gallagher and Mainoo to close up shop. Trippier started to experience muscle soreness and also could have been substituted with Gomez. It was a physical game, lots of holding and minor fouls. We needed to keep moving the ball. Pen them back in their defending third. Playing a high line and slowly fading, allowed them to much space. Gotta do better versus the Danes. Played the second half like Chelsea with Pochettino for the first 2/3 rds of a season. Load management and player rotation. Need legs and minds for the second round.

With talent we have, Kane should never have to come deeper. Foden simply can’t play LW in a non Pep system. Even in a Pep system, he plays RW. He’s a 10. Palmer is 10, but he can at least pull of playing on the wing. Catering to Bellingham and the idea that he is a forward (that’s what they listed him as on roster announcement) will undo this team. He got a goal and we won, but there was no creative linkup . If you want to play him as a CAM … maybe go 4222, Watkins Kane, Bellingham Palmer, Mainoo/Wharton and Rice. We don’t have anyone creating balls to put Saka through, and we have no one to provide overlapping width … so he just feels “there”. Something needs to be done, and done if these players simply can’t play together without throwing off the team.

Fully agree with your take on the game, personally it was so frustrating to see the constant back passing especially when there were players free further up the pitch. We were lucky not to concede in the second half when playing everyone so deep. Southgate is so negative and was slow to use the talent on the bench to try and change things.

Saka had the run of their left back but we only used him twice, Bowen comes on and again breezes past their left back. This was a massive weakness and the managers' inability to spot that and exploit it is mind boggling.
