Especially when aronaldo was NOT better than Messi before 2014 and he won his 3 UCLs after that ainjury. This is one of the many theories that braindead Ronaldo fans try to push. If anything if Messi didn't get injured in 2013 february, he was going to break his own scoring record from 2012 by scoring over 50 goals in la Liga and maybe even break the 91goals record.

I think there was debate between Messi and Ronaldo in 2009-2019, but after that it has been very clear that Messi is best in history. Most goals in top 5 leagues, most awards and trophies, most assists, most ballon dors, best prime statically in history, best average performance in matches and best goal ratio just to mention few stats of his. Ofcourse there always will be people who say that Ronaldo is better even if it doesn't make really sense.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal is great, but he doesn't have as many accolades as Lionel Messi... and as players, they are complete opposites as far as styles and personalities... Cristiano Ronaldo is tall, outspoken, Media savvy and somewhat egotistical... while Messi is short, soft spoken (doesn't give many interviews) and is humble w/ an aggressive personality on the field. Both r undisputed leaders of teams. On the field, Cristiano Ronaldo makes easy goals look tough... while Messi makes tough goals look easy ⚽⚽⚽⚽ Messi is also much better at creating opportunities for others to score (Assists) in games.

We've all been lucky enough to have 24/7 coverage of pretty much the entire careers of both Messi & CR7. I'm heavily involved in football and have been my whole life and for me there is no debate. I admire and respect the career CR7 forged for himself through ability, sheer hard work, determination and belief. But Messi simply is 'him'. Whilst I'm old enough to seen Cruyff, Best, Maradona, Zidane, R10 and R9. My goat is R9. Most complete attacker I've ever seen in my life. But Messi is a very very close second. His ability to drive with the ball and make things happen is virtually superhuman. He's a freak. And for the majority of his career for me his most defining attribute was to keep getting hit, not rolling around complaining like he'd been shot and getting back up and letting his football do the talking. In a poll football managers were asked '' if you could have one of them for 10 years in their prime to build a team around who would you take, Messi or CR7??. Messi got 88% of the votes. That says it all.

Ronaldo's footwork is amazing, but to me, Messi is the complete package. Better dribbler, better passer, and he has more assists than anyone in football history, and still has the second most goals in history at 819. Ronaldo is number one in goals with 855. They are both phenomenal!! I hope you can see the greatness in both. They have competed against each other for almost their entire careers. Thanks again for the reaction! It was great!!

@@queztheplug European soccer explained for Americans is a good video to watch as it explains league systems in europe Beginners guide to football explains the rules but you may find the offside rule a bit annoying to learn so id just watch a video explaining that by itself tbh But heres a few basic bits of info if you're interested. 1. There is Club football where players play for club teams who are normally Cities like Real Madrid and Manchester United same as NBA and NFL basically , unlike American sports you are fighting for multiple different competitions at once not just the league championship. 2. Based on how players perform for their club teams they can be selected for their national teams, for example if Messi plays really well for inter Miami he will also be picked for Argentina, where they compete in other tournaments as well. 3. Each country in the world has its in league, but European countries are the main leagues to focus on. Based on how teams do in those leagues they can qualify for other major tournaments Obviously there's way more than this but I've seen people get confused about competitions and stuff so if you see Messi on Barcelona as well as Argentina then that's why.

He’s won the Champions League 4 times (Cristiano Ronaldo has won it 5 times). Messi has won the World Cup once (finished second once) and has won the Copa America once (finished second three times). He was voted MVP in two World Cups (2014 and 2022) and MVP in two Copa Americas (2015 and 2021). At least in their primes Messi and CR7 COMPETED for those. In his prime, Lebron was playing in the weaker conference (league). At least Messi and CR7 were both playing in 2010s La Liga; one of the toughest leagues of all time. Obviously Messi is the GOAT, so don't take it as a slight when I say what I said. I said it to emphasise Messi v CR7, which was a lot more of a realistic comparison, not to embellish MJ and his GOAT status.

Your pops was probably talking about either Pele (best player of the 60s) or Maradona (best player of the 80s). Both are, in my opinion, the only players with a real argument against Messi as the GOAT - but of course, like in any sport, it’s hard to compare eras. Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t a real debate among anyone other than Real Madrid, Portugal, or CR7 fans. Ronaldo is an all-time great (top 10 ever imho), and one of the top 3 scorers ever along with Messi and Pele. He’s big, strong, fast - the type of cheat player you’d create in a video game. But he’s literally only better than Messi at one thing (heading the ball). Messi is as good at scoring (and in fact is a slightly more efficient shooter) as Ronaldo, but Messi is also unquestionably the best dribbler ever, probably the best passer ever, a top 5 free-kick taker ever… you get the point. It’s like if you combined the scoring and winning mentality of MJ, the vision and playmaking ability of LeBron, the handles of Kyrie Irving, and the long-distance shooting of Steph Curry. He’s unreal.

Great reaction to the 🐐 although tbh Messi does have better goals although the last 2 are among my favorites 😊 The Messi/ Ronaldo debate has always been a forced one even before Messi won the world cup. Although realistically they are both completely different players with different body types, playing styles and hell they even play different positions; Ronaldo is a striker and Messi is more of a playmaker who happens to be very good at scoring as well 😂 Other players you should check out from past and present are Pele; the original 🐐, Maradona, Cruff, Brazilian Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. Present players - obviously more Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Jude Bellingham, Vini Jr, Modric, Harlaand and Mbappe for starters.
