....... I feel like once someone likes a singer/actor or whatever, they'll blindly be like omg it's the beeeeest!....even when/especially when it's just not....and not even better than a random person from your neighborhood doing karaoke. It kind of shows you who a person is if they'll fib to defend who they like. Same as an American Idol tryout when they're like "Everyone i know tells me I should be a singer " and they're like omg who lied to you!..... that's all I'm seeing here.

I am from a town (Greater Naepanee) that is close to her hometown. My dad is from a small town near Malone NY but we moved to Greater Napanee cause my dad got a job at the heritage loyalist museum I can say for a fact that suburban/rural Ontario and Quebec, upstate New York, Illinois, Indiana, etc, that whole region is country through and through. In fact most of Canada and America are country, away from the big urban areas like Detroit, Chicago, NYC, Toronto, where life and people are still more pure and innocent, haven't been corrupted by capitalism

I remember my uncle telling me he was working on legal contracts for a new - the next big singer - bigger than Alanis Morisette / coming out in the next couple of months. Watch for her. He just kept saying. Wouldn’t say her name. He’s great that way. When she came out I knew immediately who he was talking about. He remained helping her legally for quite a while. His son would even go to her parents house and fix their computers for a while around that time. This was the days of Sam the Record man when you would still go to the store to get the latest CDs! All good things were always said about her. Such a sweet connection to a piece of Canadian history.
