Wonderful video, Mark Horner. The telling of this eaglet's story offers much insight to a number of issues the eagles encounter and what actions should be taken if one comes across this situation. Thank you.

Thank you all for the kind words and for taking 10-minutes to watch this story unfold. I was hoping for a happy ending, too, and had even hoped to shoot video of the eagle's release back into the wild. I'm hopeful that this story will be useful as an educational tool.

It is strange that the eaglet died even though it had no injury. Wildlife does not have it easy. To sad. Never the less, thanks for the video.

your welcome Mark....I enjoyed your film...txs for sharing. Unfortunately Nature can be cruel at times an we must remember to keep our human emotions out of their world. At other times Nature is beautiful to watch....Our nest cam(s) are owned by ECC..Earth Conservation Corp...a 25 yr old organization that is responsible for cleaning up the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers of DC ....an with their Hack house and Bob Nixon they have released many rescued Eagles and helped returned the beauties to the skies of our Nations Capital. Have a great day Sir...an hope to see ya when our cams are back up an live ......!!!!
