I do NOT believe this is the original meaning of the Quran here - that Jesus was created by the word of God. I am 100% sure that this is a later apologetic explanation of the text but NOT the original meaning. Its also inconsistent with the saying in the very same verse that 'Isa' is a spirit from Allah. As Isa was already existing as a spirit from Allah according to the Quran, then the only word required was to effect the incarnation into a human body, which means that Isa was not created since he already existed as a spirit in Allah. (note that the Quran does NOT say that Allah created a spirit here, only that the spirit of Isa came from Allah. The original meaning of 'word' here, comes from the pages of the Gospels where Jesus IS "The Word" (John 1:1 and 1:14). There is simply far too much correspondence with the text of the Bible, for it to be any kind of 'co-incidence'. And we know that the Christian beliefs and the sayings of the Bible had reached the Arabs and Mohammed, long before the Quran was written. There is so much biblical content in the Quran, along with the contents written in Syrian Christian legends, that only a simpleton or very naive person would imagine that it came by way of a revelation to a man who knew nothing about it. Even the very mention of Jesus in the Quran is due to the author(s) having previous knowledge about Jesus in Christian traditions. If you want to believe that there's no connection here and that its "all a revelation", then good luck to you, but the reality is staring you in the face and to continue in that belief, is pure self denial!

i could be wrong here, and totally wrong about everything im going to say here… but ill give it a shot… i get that you think that Jesus was god… or part of god…and before i start im not trying to make you Muslim.. or to convince u to leave whatever you beleive in … thats not my intention… rather what id like to do.. is to make you reflect and consider … just for once maybe what you may have thought as a child.. when you were alone… and you may have accepted that there is a creator… you didnt call that creator Jesus or allah or the Holy Spirit… i get that maybe you’ve had personal experiences.. which may have made u think and feel that you’re on the right track.. and not just that… but people around you who have told you and given explanations.. but those explanations…never fully explained it … not 100%… to make it worse.. you’ve invested a lot… sacrificed and experienced too much pain to turn round and admit that it was all wrong.. because to admit that… makes you feel stupid and if you’re wrong about this… what else are you wrong about… not sure if thats how you’d feel… i will say this though… and ill keep it short… rather than think how you’re right … think how you’re wrong.. because the questions you ask, the conclusions you reach and the answers you take are biased… see confirmation bias… if you want to see Jesus in the clouds or on a piece of toast… you’ll see him… because thats what you want to see… look at the EVIDENCE and only the evidence… not what you believe or want to believe or wish to believe is true… but ONLY the evidence and logic… because GOD … gave you that intellect for a reason… religion isn’t about feelings and blind faith… but using intellect… intelligence…to see what makes sense… reconnect with that entity .. the ONE entity… you know he’s only one.. not 3 in one… not 360million in one… not 2 in one… just one…
