On Thursday’s (Aug. 1) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks are joined by Memphis natives Key Glock and Young Dolph, the duo who recently released the collaborative project, ‘Dum and Dummer’ via Paper Route Empire. Dolph and Glock share with the EDS trio the inspiration behind the project, the idea behind the promo viral skits and how the mixtape came together. Later in the episode, Dolph shares in detail the reason for turning down a $22 million major label deal and why he’s better off being independent than signed. Dolph also opens up about the current Memphis rap scene, and speaks on how he’s influenced other artists in his region via his music and style. Towards the end of the show, Glock shares with the crew how he and Dolph first met, and speaks on the reason why he decided to join Dolph’s label. To conclude the show, Dolph and Glock talk about what’s next for the indie empire.

Bro when they warn Dolph about moving alone like all the other interviews did before his death, it hits extra hard, especially when he is all calm and cool about nothing ever happening to him and then it did, just hurts..or even how Glock says when its your time its your time followed by "aint nothing going to happen to us god keeps us blessed" that shit hits hard after his passing.. Long Live Dolph

It hurts so bad, yes he was warned & told plenty of times to not move alone so comfortable like that, then look at what happened. It hurts so bad especially finding out how & who killed him. I do believe when it’s your time. It’s your time. But at the prime of his career Young Dolph needed high profile security. Long live Dolph 🐬🐬🐬. God bless Glock. I know he’s hurting

90 K Ok and that has nothing to do with when he actually came out. How can a dude be considered a freshmen when he already had a large following/fan base years before that? That was just a mainstream statement and shows they don’t really be liking/following these artist because they don’t have accurate information. That’s like saying ...hey you heard that new guy Chance the rappers project “Coloring book” he deserves to be on the freshmen list this years. 😂

Can’t front after a few guest interviews I can say that I rock with the casts dynamic when it comes to balancing media headline stories of the artist and dissecting not only the back story but the artists current mind state MGK, Gates and now Dolph I’ve learned more about the person more so the artist Dope journalism 🙏🏾

Shoutout to Dolph & Key Glock I love their hussle & mindset real example of a Marathon🙌🏾 they rep Memphis hard!!!! Owning everything is amazing only thing what ion get his achievements has gone unnoticed period is it because he didn’t sign to a label? & preferred to rock his own? Give him his respect tho!!! Young black business men doin it!!! The real ones know what’s up I’m in the city now I rep all the artist in Memphis it’s a jungle here a real struggle in so many areas not too much support at all period!!! So much talent in the city so much hate but if they drop the beef, the hate & get on the money train omg it would be amazing seriously but each artist has a story to tell & believe me they raps are real I live in Memphis stayed in South Memphis love it if you can make it their you can make it anywhere the struggle create legends 🙌🏾💯❣️❣️❣️🤞🏾 the female artist here go hard as well!!! Shoutout to Dolph, Glock & the entire team❣️❣️❣️

This is why education & knowing how to articulate is so critical. You can see the brother processing & thinking when they ask him questions, but struggle (see what I did there lol) to convey his thoughts. You can’t say “like” all the time with no other words and expect people to understand your viewpoint.
