Don Trees the only thing i get from blk people signing record deals is that they don't actually know business, plus label contracts can always be changed into your demands if they really wanna sign you, with that being said i don't understand how people still get into 360 deals.

Just when I thought the video was only meant to be humorous, the director throws in the key element of the video. 360 deals and how it basically makes today’s artist a slave of his own work. Perfect timing in dropping this video with all the Kayne West riff raff going on.

Not so fast though. Because whenever an artist upload their music via VEVO accounts best believe Major Record Labels are getting a piece of the action it doesn't matter whether you are independent or not. VEVO is owned by Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music. These m-therfuckers are slick and are finessing the artists without even knowing it. If you upload music directly to your OWN channel without using VEVO you will make more money period! Especially if you are an established artist.

Vidi Mane _ Came from a movie
@d.q.p61826 жыл бұрын
Him Reddy well what I meant was how he used "it" to get his subliminal point across. Its definately obvious to the average hipped person that the skit was emulated from "DJango"!😂 But that's fine though; that's what made it extra funny, is that we knew the source and had something to compare it too.. Just like in his VEVO video "Play with yo B****" We knew that the characters were representing CMG's Yo Gotti, Big Jook, and Vato... and we knew that "CMF" t-shirts were his parody for the real "CMG" shirts that are actually real. Dolph has to be one of the most artistic rappers to come out of Memphis and show his creativity in his videos(some not all) and in the way he put his outfits together (real fresh). Just like Gotti has been the most talented businessman in the music industry, representing Memphis. His business sense has superceeded any other Memphis artist's and is up there in the sense of all the rappers in the game (just under Michael Jackson, Jay Z, P. Diddy, Master P, Cash) Money, and Rick Ross) Truth is, neither one of the Memphis artists are the sole King of Memphis, but all were kings at what they have made a mark in, and how they've made that mark original💯 The power would be exponential if they would be at peace with each other, and collaborate at times...but their insecurities, selfishnesses, and false prides is what's toxic to the industry and the city's full-potential💯
@bradschmitt242 жыл бұрын
Great analogy to how it is being "independent" as opposed to signing to a major label...not a huge difference. IT'S DOLPH! R.I.P. the legend.
