I am from England. I went on my 1st holiday to India in 1977 when I was 19 with my then girlfriend who I later married. On our 1st morning in Goa we was sitting having a coffee and a 7 year old boy came over and we got talking. His name was Rupee as it was what he went around asking for from people. He slept outside on the front of a Chinese restaurant and he was allowed to eat the leftovers. Me and my wife stayed there for 6 months and made a lot of friends there and got to care for the boy. I asked one of them if I helped to pay for him would he look after him/ And even tho the family wasnt wealthy they agreed. We went back every year and watched him grow. He went thru school and is clever. He was adopted by the family. He started work on the gathers boat and he now owns 2 of his own. Has a lovely family and does all he can for the homeless and otphanages. Its amazing at just what can happen over a cup of coffee and you listen to people.

As someone who visits S. Africa regularly, children there are much safer than in countries like the U.S or Europe. They walk to school (regardless of money or family status) unless they live miles away. The mindless School-Run of the west is almost non-existent. Children play out in the streets and parks without supervision or fear. There is old-fashioned respect in that country, something sadly lacking now in so-called civilised countries. My home is in the UK but I feel much safer walking around the streets of S. Africa at night than I do in the UK.

Those children are so sweet and super smart. They could definitely start a family business and do very well. She needs a very specific idea though. Most often, people in that situation don't know what to do with all of that money. It's too easy just to spend it all on daily needs, but it could be spent to start a future income. The older kids could help her buy materials, build something, and sell it. The little ones would really draw the attention of customers because they have such big personalities. I really wish them all well.
