Thank you so much for this video that replicates what I have been doing with young Thoroughbreds. My boys, ranging in age from weanling to 6 years ( Frankie) are so calm, confident, curious and seem to learn so easily, whatever is asked of them without the hissy fit.The two year old was just backed, went to the track to experience what light galloping in a different environment entailed and the trainer commented that he had never had a horse that was so willing and accepted whatever was asked of him. He is not fearful, is curious and trusts the 2 legged folk because his early experiences were positive. Patience is essential.... And they all love scratches.

Thank you, this was informative and makes total sense. I had wondered about weanings that seemed early to me (4 months) and in thinking about human psychology wondered if separation anxiety could also apply to foals taken from their mothers in unnatural ways. I appreciate the validation.
