You can tell that they have a past behind them as old friends. Their dynamic is fun to watch, Youngjae is more energetic and cheerful, while JB is more calm and always know what is the wise choice. They complete each other. Such a nice and old friendship. :)

I think they are friends. There was a time where they all reunited at Gwangju and had a fun time together (there's a pic). They also interact whenever they pass by each other (1004 win while BTS promoting Boy In Luv; YWF promotions; and even during award shows like Gayo Daejun). It is also possible for them to be friends since Youngjae and Hoseok know each other (not quite sure about this but people said they auditioned together at JYP). :D

After watching this program and the newest episode of Idol Battle Likes ( Ep 2 - BAP ), I think Youngjae could care less about his image because his self confidence doesn't let him worry. That's is probably why his friendship with JB works. JB is still too self critical to leave caution to the wind like YJ. But he seems to enjoy it when YJ pushes him out of his boundaries. I know the BAP members have sometimes "suffered" because of this (prime target: Himchan) (if you haven't seen the BAP ep of the Qmentary you should watch it and you'll understand what I mean), but with JB it just works. He does seem more relaxed.
