Cliches are a part of boxing, most experienced smart fighters use cliches…even Lomachenko and especially when they get hurt, or are winning and want to slow down their opponents rhythm or frustrate them or catch their breathe if they get hit by a big shot. If you think about clinches as a way of offsetting your opponent, it may not be pretty but it works. It’s easy to criticise it outside of the ring but when in the ring you do what you need to do to win or to survive or both. .

I am not dismissing Haney, but Loma isn't just going to stand in the ring taking licks. His experience is his advantage. However, he needs to get Haney past round 6 and Haney may run out of steam.
