it's actually pretty common if you become a doctor because you're so busy that you were around your colleagues more so it's easier to find someone who's in the same field as you because they'll understand why you're not always home, especially if you're still in college and doing interning

I'm an Asian, a christian, and I'm bisexual and this just hits home. The 1st time I came out to my parents, it was very hard for me. My whole family was very religious. I felt scared and ashamed. There was a point in my life where I even despised myself and was utterly disgusted by myself for being like this. But I just couldn't. It was who I was and god knows how much I already tried changing that part of me which obviously didn't work. So I was thankful to my friends especially my childhood best friend who lives in an another country. I was devastated during those years, it felt like I couldn't reach to anyone. I wanted to die, but then I thought, "God gave me this life to see the beauty in life and the world. Why would I waste it? He gave me this life, so I should cherish it. I should prove to him that I was worth being born" and then I prayed to God. 1st, I thanked him for the life his given me. 2nd, I asked him for forgiveness that I turned out like this and forgiveness for the constant suicidal thoughts that kept on running through my mind. 3rd, I also asked that he forgives my parents for their hurtful words, not to me but towards the other people who's also currently struggling this issue that I was also facing. And lastly, I asked for guidance, for a sign. And boom. That's when my childhood best friend called me for a vc. When I told her my situation, the 1st thing she did was congratulate me for being brave and for taking the risk of coming out to her. She was happy that I finally found one of the pieces within me. I was so touched. She was the best friend slash sister I've ever had in my entire life. She's straight and she also came from a family like mine; Asian, christian and very religious but she was still there for me and she gave me advices. She never stopped loving me as a best friend, a sister and almost as a twin. She also risked herself talking to my parents regarding this issue. So as time went by, my family gradually but finally accepted me. Although some of them still don't fully support me yet at least they were civil and getting there. My mom, she was the best. She was the first to comfort me after their talk with my best friend. And then there goes dad. But the best of all was my grandma. Before my parents finally accepted me and before my friend talked to them, my friend actually consulted my grandma first if it was okay for her to confront my parents. And we were so shocked at what my grandma did. She actually hugged me and said sorry for how my parents were acting. She was sorry for the times she never knew what I was going through, but most of all she was sorry that I've gone through those days where I hated myself. She was the best. Now, my parents fully accept me. Heck my dad even hides money from my mom just to give me extra allowance for dates (well that was before pandemic) anyway, I love them. Especially my best friend and grandma. But even though if they still didn't accept me, I don't think I ever hated them one bit. I mean, I know where they were coming from. I know how hurt they must've felt when I outed myself. I understand them and I'd still love them no matter their harsh remarks because they were my parents. They gave birth to me. They're the reason why I'm alive and seeing the world right now.... Parents may come out tough at times, they may become passive aggressive towards you for how many years but no parents don't love their kids. All parents love us and I know for a fact, that one day, they'll forgive you. It may take the longest time, but trust me they will. The point is, they're mad because they know how society is like and they just don't want their child to experience being criticised and mocked and harassed by others. They're afraid for us. So I understand them. Just give them time, and show them that you being gay or bisexual or pan or trans doesn't change who you are as a person and as their child. That no matter your gender, you're still that same kid that they raised and that you being like that doesn't make you less of a person. Rather, it makes you a better version of yourself❤️

I understand what you’re getting at but we don’t need our parents to ‘forgive’ us. We’ve done nothing wrong in coming out to them. Parents shouldn’t feel ‘hurt’ that their kid isn’t straight. Parents shouldn’t be passive aggressive towards their children for not being straight. You can accept and even support your child’s sexuality without understanding it because I know it can be hard for some parents to properly understand. I’m sorry you had to go through that ❤️

@isblueokay "god" isnt real the truth is religion is just the control of peoples morals and ways of thinking. What better way to convince someone to think gay people are icky than to say well god says gay people are icky. Religion takes place in the minds of weak people who cannot critically think or are too afraid too because god says they will burn in hell for eternity for even daring to have their own thoughts. Sounds like a cult to me. "god" did not give you life. If you put down that cultist fairytail book for a second and did some critical thinking and research on evolution, you would know that. Please, please get out of this cult.

I'm Asian Bisexual as well! And just know, that we will ALWAYS be there for you, I hope your family supports you for who you are, because, you can't change yourself, if your gay, your gay, if your bi, your bi! Or if you are a part of the LGBTQIA+ Comm, just know, there are MILLIONS of people out there who support you, don't feel ashamed, and also, no one needs their parents to forgive them, that's just the way you are, and if they can't accept that, then. . . It's their loss, y'know? So. . . Don't feel bad about it, just. . . give it some time, and until you feel you are ready, then you can come out, good luck! We will always be there for you and support you!

I’m sorry your mother wasn’t supportive. Children learn what they live and it’s hard to break that cycle especially if it’s a cultural norm. I’m a mother to a bisexual daughter and I don’t see it as big deal or even a small deal. However I was raised in a non religious household by my single mother, to be open minded and to accept and respect others for who they are so long as they’re doing no harm . I was taught we’re all equal regardless of our differences. It upsets me to see children being hurt by their parents. Sending you some love ❤️. I’ve been hurt by my father for different reasons so I relate. It still there no matter how they try to make up for it. They don’t realise the disappointment/ hurt they claim to feel works both ways.

my brother is 18. he has a gay friend. his friends parents didn't believe in being gay, as 'the bible says a man and woman should be together', or whatever, so his parents said 'if you don't believe in marriage with a woman, you are not allowed to live under this roof'. he knew 100% he was gay, so he was kicked out of his own families house. he had no where to go. he felt embarrassed living with other family or friends, so he was left homeless on the streets. my brother got his own apartment, and he now lives with Anthony, his friend. he was so happy to be able to have access to everything. any parent that won't accept their child for the sexuality or any disability they have, should of never been a parent. if you're a parent, you should love your child, no matter who they are. no one is perfect. no one is going to be the best. but you always put your children as your first priority. you should put them before anyone. it isn't hard, it's only hard if you make it. accept them for who they are, and everything will be okay.

Which I have never done,I have no need to watch porn. And even if I had..I'm pretty sure that's not how that works. Regardless...I was such a chicken after that reaction that I retracted my statement of coming out and said I would seek 'help'. Which I just sat in a room with my pastor and let everything in one ear and out the other. While he quite literally tried to pray the gay away. The fact of the matter is..I either never speak to my parents, or most of my friends/family again. or I spend the rest of my life alone. There is no middle ground.

Because she never had parent's... If she would have parents she would know being gay is not fine... She would never be born if they were gay.. Would you want your parents to be gay??? Offcourse not!!!! Society turning into sodom and Gomorrah... There are testimonies of many who turned straight from gay.. As God's power heal them from inside.... Temptations and early child abuse plays a huge role in turning someone to gay... It's not a normal condition it's a mental issue which needs to be treated... I came from the same background and i know how being gay impacts your health your brains and your social life!!!!! No one is born gay... PERIOD

@@livinghope1561 It would be nice if you shut your trap ;) It's funny how people always use the bible to say that being gay is wrong. But remember that it was people who wrote the bible, not God. Even if God told us himself that being gay is bad, then he is wrong. If God truly loves us (if he even exists), he will accept us for who we are and not hate us because we like the same gender. If he hates us for that, then he doesn't really love us and I'll rather go to hell than change myself.

@@glitterkoo1516 God created us and He have the right to tell us what is wrong and right!!!!! Didn't God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah?? You may research and they still exist... God created male and female... Not male and male... If all turns gay then a society will cease to exist that is what Satan wants everyone to go hell and no one turn to God.... Every gay knows whatever i said is truth and facts... They need psychiatrist and Jesus can heal them all...... Go and check ex gay's testimonies ... If gay can't turn straight then u r wrong just as saying sick cannot be healed......

How i came out XD Me: People. I'm gay. i am in love with Asher (my now husband) Parents: We thought so. Grandma: I could already tell by the way you two looked at each other. Me: **looks over at Asher** Hey stupid! will you be my boyfriend? Asher: Sure. **blushes and keeps eating** Aunt: Cute! (she is obsessed with all things LGBTQ+ so...) Parents: ....... It was interesting to say the least XD It was even more embarrassing because Asher was spending the week with me at the time and he had no clue what i was doing. In short, he laughed so much afterwards that soda came out of his nose.

I had a friend like this in high school. We all knew he was gay but he didn’t come out until college. The best part was that none of us even had a problem. We all just went on with things and when he came out we were all like “Yup, we know.”

I haven't came out to my family as an Asian Bisexual yet, but I did to my friends, and I'm so glad they support me, I burst out into tears. . . So. . . Don't feel scared or nervous, because, if you're not ready to come out, then don't. Just leave it be until you feel comfortable! And P.S This is for EVERYONE out there, who feels as if they are committing a sin//crime by being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, NEVER THINK THAT! You are not alone. . . Alright?? I there are MILLIONS of people who support you, and JUST SO YOU KNOW, IM ONE OF THEMM!!!! I love you all SO SO SO MUCH! Stay safe out there everyone, and good luck coming out. . .!
