Father Isaac Mary is so right with this talk on purity. He said that men would confess this sin of lust culminating with masterbation over and over again. That was me, struggling with this vice. I would have priests just automatically give me absolution with no remedy to stopping this mortal sin. I even asked a priest once how he could to this absolution with me telling him that I knew I was going to do it again. What helped me most was prayer, and asking for the grace to overcome this insanity, and the insanity is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Father Isaac Mary is so right on recommending the Rosary, everyday. The three Hail Marys in the morning for purity. I have one other recommendation, watch this video again, and again.....

I think it was Fr. Isaac Mary who said one wealthy guy, struggling to break free of impurity, in addition to prayer & penance, started giving alms in the thousands every time he "acted out." According to Father, once he had started almsgiving, he was soon liberated of the vice.

I use to have problems with these sins. The daily Rosary keeps me chaise. If I neglect the Rosary for only 2 days these temptations come right back. As I say my Rosary I offer up each decade for a special intention and I always offer up the first decade for the virtues of purity and chastity and humbly lay this petition at Our Lady’s feet. And it works. Anyone having these issues please try this.

I managed to stop comitting the horrendous sins of self-abuse and viewing pornography for almost a year then, to my great misfortune, fell back into the same rut. This would not have happened, I think, had I continued to pray the holy rosary. I think the reason I returned to these horrid sins is my not corresponding with grace. However despite my unfortunate relapse, this wonderful conference by Fr. Isaac Mary was a HUGE motivation for me to stop commiting the aforementioned sins. I will try to overcome these sins yet again with God's grace. Prayers toward that end would be much appreciated by anyone who reads this comment. Our Lady of Fatima asked the just to offer sacrifices for the conversion of sinners. I ask that God give me grace to mortify myself. I hope to see our Blessed Lord and his most holy mother one day. Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary: consecrate yourself to her and renew it everyday. Do the formula by St. Maximilian Kolbe or St. Louis de Montfort. 3. PRAY THE ROSARY EVERYDAY!!! 4. Every morning and evening kneel down with your fingertips under your knees and pray 3 Hail Mary's for purity 5. Wear the brown scapular all the time. 6. When you are tempted call on Jesus and Mary immediately and continue to do so until the temptation goes away. 7. Pray to Mary to give you the grace to hate this sin and to rather drop dead in the state of grace then ever commit a mortal sin again. 8. Pray to Mary to find you a good steady confessor that knows the true faith. 9. Meditate on one of the 4 last things everyday: death, judgment, hell, and heaven. 10. Practice the presence of God. 11. Father Isaac is a very good priest. The only fear I have for parents is there going to scare there kids away from the church. My dad brought all 8 of his kids to Flushing Meadows to see Veronica, Latin Mass every week, a weekday mass and Saturday morning. He taught us the Catachism, communion on the tongue, we said the rosary every night, morning offering every morning and night prayers. Out of his 8 kids I'm the only one who goes to mass. The kids are facing different times then when we were kids. We hung around other families who all went to Latin mass and said Rosaries every night. I've been having a strong conversion lately. I'm wondering if my mom our dad are leading me from heaven or the holy spirit. But overwhelming your kids with fear of hell will push your kids away. I've seen it over and over again. God is just and merciful, just ask the holy spirit to help you raise your kids. Be patient and let them make there decision. Lead by example.

Father, thank you for this video. Excellent topic. As a married man of 24 years I find it very difficult to be chaste especially when my wife is not inclined to the marital act. So is it selfish to pray to God that she become less frigid? Have other men experience this? Many times I find it easy to think that it would be easier if I were single then to go to bed and rise with a person that doesn't want physical love.

Good video. I'd like to learn more about the mental prayer concept. I'm sure it's not as complicated as I imagine it, but any books or resources are welcomed.

To learn about mental prayer as a body of knowledge, a book by Lehodey published by TAN is about as good as it gets. I think it’s called On Mental Prayer. For starting out in mental prayer, I personally suggest buying Imitation of Christ, reading one of the super short chapters every day, and taking 10 minutes to pray to God and Our Lady for help to improve in whatever way the book discussed.

Check out the Sensus Fidelium channel and Fr. Chad Ripperger's videos on Mental Prayer and How to Meditate. Look up Lectio Divina as well.
